Finance Senior Manager, Client Arrangements & Pricing
Who You'll Work With
You will be based in one of our Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Houston, Miami, New York, Sao Paulo, Southern California, or Washington DC offices and be
part of McKinsey's Pricing, Arrangements and Client Enablement (PACE) function, which is focused on driving commercial excellence. This particular role sits within the 'client arrangements desk', alongside other commercially minded professionals who help structure and negotiate non-standard arrangements, including performance and equity-based arrangements.
You will also be working with our commercial directors to support our Partners and client service teams in our Americas offices, over time, you will work independently and support the broader region. You will also liaise with other functional leaders who have a role in shaping/approving arrangements, including professionals in our Legal, Risk, Tax, and Accounting functions, along with McKinsey's regional and global approval bodies.
What You'll Do
You will support Partners with negotiating complex commercial arrangements.
You will counsel/coach them in how to structure arrangements; in many cases, you will join and/or lead the negotiation with the client. You will also work closely with local/regional leaders on performance management and strategic initiatives (e.g., arrangements strategies, Partner training, etc.).
You will be a part of a global team of professional commercial negotiators, meeting regularly to share learnings, problem-solve complex cases, and jointly lead global projects in this space and there initiatives are often sponsored by leadership from finance, McKinsey's board of directors, or the management team. You will also serve as a Subject Matter Expert for additional topics globally.
Qualifications
  • 4 year university degree, CPA JD or MBA desired
  • 5+ years of recent experience in management consulting, banking, PE/VC, or other B2B professional services environment and 10+ years of experience overall
  • Fluency in Portuguese and/or Spanish is a plus
  • Must have experience negotiating complex commercial arrangements in the B2B/professional services arena; private equity or venture capital experience is a plus
  • Excellent people leadership skills, drive, energy and confidence
  • Strong financial and analytical skills
  • Ability to build relationships with senior leadership as this role requires front facing execution with senior partners and C-suite clients
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to lead cross-functional teams, work with and from time-to-time advise senior firm leaders, and help build consensus
  • Ability to spot issues/risks and understand how these impact commercial outcomes
  • Excellent project management and problem-solving skills
  • Strong sense of entrepreneurship and ownership mindset, with a client service orientation

A reasonable estimate of the range for new joiners for this role in the United States is $182,700 - $268,000. Actual salaries may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors, including, but not limited to an individual's assigned office location, experience and expertise. Certain roles are also eligible for bonuses, subject to McKinseyis discretion and based on factors such as individual and/or organizational performance.
