Job Description

At LCRA, we are seeking a Dam and Hydro Operations Superintendent to be responsible for overseeing day-to-day maintenance operations at six Highland Lakes dams and for 13 hydroelectric generators. This position is a phenomenal opportunity to improve the quality of life of the people of Texas through water stewardship, energy, and community service. In this role you will be a key contributor for your teams to optimize efficiency, reduce costs, and ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations of our critical infrastructure.

The Dam and Hydro headquarters is located in Buchanan Dam and normal working hours are Mon-Fri 7am-3:30pm, with occasional after-hours needs. Our mission is to improve the lives of Central Texas and our teams are dedicated to service with safety focus as top priority!

You will be trusted to:

  • Develops and maintains appropriate processes, procedures, and records for departmental operations.
  • Assists management with strategic planning and identifies areas of improvement.
  • Develops and coordinates training and tabletop exercises with other departments and external organizations.
  • Manages resources to support O&M and capital projects.

You qualify with:

  • Nine or more years of experience in industrial, dam, hydroelectric, power plant operations and maintenance, or other relevant experience, including three or more years of management responsibility. A degree(s) in engineering, business, or relevant field may be substituted per LCRA guidelines for certain years of experience.

    Driver's license

You are a great fit with:

  • Degree(s) in business, engineering, or relevant field
  • Experience with Project Management
