Job Description

Primary Functions:

This position is responsible for ensuring freight is received in an efficient and accurate manner, documenting for damages, consignee information, check weights, dimensions, and process in a timely manner. This position is also responsible for shipping the correct freight, keep work areas clean, and ensure that supplies and mechanics are kept in working order.

Education and/or Experience Qualifications:

High school or GED, plus specialized schooling and/or on the job education in a specific skill area; e.g. data processing, clerical/administrative, equipment operation, etc, plus 12 to 18 months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Position Responsibilities:

  1. Assist shipping and receiving unloading trucks, checking in merchandise, matching purchase orders to sales orders and distributing to sales associates for processing.
  2. Following safety and TSA regulations.
  3. Maintain warehouse supply level.
  4. Ensure mechanical appliances are in working order.
  5. Keep warehouse clean and organized.
  6. Read customer orders, work orders, shipping orders or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered or distributed and/or shipped.
  7. File requisitions, work orders or requests for materials, tools or other stock items and distribute items to shipping or to designated route driver storage area.
  8. Record amounts of materials or items received or distributed via appropriate computer program.
  9. Weigh and count items for distribution within plant to ensure conformance to company standards.
  10. Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
