Leidos is seeking a Senior Mongo Engineer with Ansible to be part of the mission solution and help lead SSA's Digital Modernization Strategy. Join one of our high performing teams responsible for building the next-generation enterprise APIs and modern responsive user interfaces, supporting the Social Security Administration (SSA) and their mission to meet the changing needs of the public, positively impacting at least 65 million American lives per month. We are a team of forward-looking professionals in need of a strong candidate with these key required skills: Strong knowledge of Mongo Community Edition on Linux, MongoDB architecture, and hands on experience with Ansible Automation.

The ideal candidate will have a strong desire to learn new skills, embed with a team, solicit ideas, and feedback, and have good communication skills and on a day-to-day basis perform the following:

  • Automate and maintain MongoDB databases and infrastructure using Community Edition on Linux.
  • Experience working with AWS database services including EC2, and S3.
  • Attend all customer technical discussions/design/development meetings and provide technical inputs to further enhance the code quality/process.
  • Provide guidance/support to other junior/mid-level developers.
  • Impact functional strategy by developing new solutions, processes, standards, or operational plans that position Leidos competitively in the marketplace.
  • All other duties as assigned or directed.

FOUNDATION FOR SUCCESS (Basic Qualifications)

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field and 12 years of experience. Experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.
  • Master's or Doctorate degree may substitute for required experience.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust. Contract requirement.
  • 4+ years of experience with MongoDB Community Edition on Linux.
  • 3+ years of Ansible development of increasing complexity.
  • Candidate should be able to work independently as well as in a team.
  • Excellent communication skills.

*** Selected candidate must reside within two (2) hours of SSA Headquarters in Woodlawn, MD OR be willing to relocate prior to first day of employment

*** Selected candidate must be willing to work on-site at least 2 days a week.

FACTORS TO HELP YOU SHINE (Required Skills)

These skills will help you succeed in this position:

  • Designing, building, and automating the Infrastructure for MongoDB Community Edition.
  • Proven experience in using Python, Ansible, and similar methods to automate infrastructure tasks.
  • Proven experience with Shell Scripting.
  • Knowledge of MongoDB architecture.
  • Git/Bitbucket, Confluence, and JIRA experience
  • Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills.

HOW TO STAND OUT FROM THE CROWD (Desired Skills)

Showcase your knowledge of modern development through the following experience or skills:

  • Experience with modern development software, tools, and methodologies.
  • Experience working on Agile projects and understanding Agile terminology.
  • Previous work in DevOps Environments.
  • Ansible Automation Platform experience.
  • Experience on automating AWS ElastiCache provisioning, administration, and maintenance.

Pay Range:Pay Range $122,200.00 - $220,900.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline onlyand not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
