Pay Range:

$77,856 - $122,651

JobSummary:

This position will work with all levels of management. Programs, trouble shoots, modifies, maintains, upgrades (Electrical/Mechanical) and backs up all PLC and computer software associated with the production equipment. Works with Manager, other Engineers, PLC Techs, Supervisor, Mechanics, and Electricians to support projects, PM, PdM and repairs.

Required Education/Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics, Electrical, and or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years Electro-mechanical controls experience.
Preferred Skills/Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with the following industrial control communication protocols: ControlNet, Ethernet, DH+, Remote I/O, Device Net.
  • Working knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical schematics, and combustion control systems.
  • Knowledge of Windows operating system, PC/software configurations, and how PLC software works with computer operating systems.
  • Fluent in AutoCAD & SolidWorks.
  • Prior knowledge of aluminum alloy extrusion
  • Proven history of successful machine integration and automation.
  • Experience with Allen Bradley PLC-5, SLC-500, ControlLogix, PanelView and PanelView Plus
Job Responsibilities:
  • Ensure equipment is operating correctly and communicate effectively with operations team and maintenance to resolve any shortcomings or make modifications
  • Ensure proper/safe operation of equipment and communicate & troubleshoot issues effectively to the proper resources and frontline leadership
  • Support scheduled Preventative Maintenance of the press line
  • Optimize Press performance through continuous improvement efforts, minimization of dead cycle time, downtime, and creation of Standardized Work / JSA's
  • Drive implementation of new technology and plant improvements
  • Program, modify, troubleshooting and documentation of PLC, PMC, HMI, VFD, etc
  • Manage electrical design/approvals of new equipment
  • Develop plant equipment specifications
  • Design and install retrofits to existing systems and support projects of all sizes
  • Train and mentor maintenance technicians in-terms of machinery controls
  • Assist plant engineering and maintenance departments in selecting and standardizing equipment, software, device upgrades, drivers, and interfaces to improve equipment operation and control system reliability
  • Analyze manufacturing process flows continually for the enhancement of quality, cost reduction, and throughput
  • Confer with suppliers in determining product specifications and arranging equipment, parts, or material purchase, and evaluating products according to quality standards and specifications
  • Assist with installation, start-up, and maintenance of plant/facility electrical equipment and control systems, with emphasis on troubleshooting PLC-based control systems and electrical troubleshooting
  • Provide engineering support in production departments to trouble shoot and resolve technical problems
