Responsibilities
- Assist the Research Division developing, conducting and facilitating research and educational activities and the practice site identified and with additional hospital sites as necessary. Maintain primary responsibility for interfacing with the IRB regarding new and ongoing trials, insuring appropriate patient enrollment, record keeping and timely and accurate completion of case report forms for research projects at his/her practice site.
- Assist investigators with entire collaborative research process
- Attend research meetings at the practice site
- Collaborate with hopsital departments and research team in study startup processes.
- Assist in providing updates for all ongoing research projects during unit specific meeting as well as department meetings
- Review and report all adverse events for ongoing projects
- Ensure investigator and staff adherence to protocol
- Assist in site initiation meetings, interim monitor visits, and study closure meetings
- Provide Research Director with ongoing reports of all monitoring and development processes
- Assist in solving site problems (e.g. enrollment issues)
Qualifications
- R.N. with a B.S.N., A.A., or B.A. in nursing in NICU or Newborn Nursery units.
- Experience in planning and conducting research in NICU and especially in the submission of IRB applications and the completion and maintenance of Case Report Forms.
- Requires a knowledge of computers including e-mail, internet, word processing (Word), spread sheet (excel), some data base experience or willingness to learn, Power Point presentations.
