Overview

The Commissioning Technician will work within a team to perform required system inspections on utility PV power plants. Perform mechanical inspections and electrical testing. Document all inspection findings and test results. Communicate inspection findings and test results with Commissioning Lead. Document and assist with PV system trouble shooting and corrective actions.

Responsibilities
    Assist with the inspection of PV plants to specifications of construction documents
  • Complete all commissioning documentation during inspection
  • Documenting all outstanding issues and deliver all documentation in a neat and orderly manner for review by the Lead
  • Assist Lead with field test data entry as needed
  • Perform final visual and mechanical inspections on equipment before energization date
  • Oversee third party testing and inspections (Transformers, MV audits, MV cable tests, Fiber optics, etc.)
  • Ensure site documentation is prepared for upcoming sites
  • Ensure proper use of PPE and conformity to safety procedures by all employees
  • Keep tools clean and orderly at all times
  • Report any missing or broken tools to Lead and inform
  • Lead when consumable supplies are low
  • Care for and maintain all issued PPE in accordance with manufacturer's specifications
  • Arrive for work Prepared to work and dressed appropriately
  • Maintain a positive attentive attitude toward co-workers and construction teams at all times
  • Work independently as a member of the team
  • Work together with one or more new hires ensuring quality of work and adherence to all safety procedures
Qualifications

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent Photovoltaic installation experience
  • Classroom education or training in photovoltaic systems preferred
  • Ability to use a Multi-Meter
  • OSHA 10 hour certified
  • First Aid / CPR certified NFPA 70E certified
  • Ability to read and understand electrical single-line and three-line diagrams
  • Ability to complete tasks with minimal oversight
