Position: Sr. Consultant
Location: DALLAS TX, Hybrid

JOB DESCRIPTION:
We are seeking experienced Senior Engineers to join our software maintenance and support team. As a Senior Engineer, you will be responsible for providing maintenance and support for OSP 10 and Rel 7.7 software products. Your expertise in Corgi, Pacemaker for RHEL HA, Python, git, ansible, and Jenkins/Groovy will be crucial in ensuring the stability and reliability of our software offerings. You will work closely with a team of engineers, reviewing published vulnerabilities, and providing support to customers who are using previous versions of our software products. Performs research, design, implementation and support tasks as a member of Capgemini team. Works in accordance with project guidelines, quality standards and code conventions.
MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide maintenance and support for OSP 10 and Rel 7.7 software products
Review and address published vulnerabilities, ensuring the software remains secure and resilient
Collaborate with a team of engineers to troubleshoot and resolve customer issues
Assist in backporting critical CVEs (Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures) to maintain software security
Work closely with kernel developers to address software issues and optimize performance
Maintain a thorough understanding of the software products and their functionality
Collaborate with internal teams to develop and implement software patches and updates
Contribute to the improvement of software maintenance processes and procedures
Stay up to date with industry trends and advancements to provide proactive support and recommendations
Ensures that assigned area/areas are delivered within set deadlines and required quality objectives.
Provides estimations, agrees task duration with the manager and contributes to project plan of assigned area.
Analyses scope of alternative solutions and makes decision about area implementation based on his/her experience and technical expertise.
Reports about area readiness/quality, and raises red flags in crisis situations which are beyond his/her AOR.
Initiates and conducts code reviews, creates code standards, conventions and guidelines.
Collaborates with other teams.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Must have:
  • +5 years of experience in software development.
  • +3 years of experience in programming languages such as Golang, C++, Python or demonstrated ability to learn and apply these languages.
  • Knowledge of containers and containers orchestration.
  • Experience working with Openshift Service Mesh (Istio).
  • Experience working with Version Control Systems (git)
  • Ability and desire to learn new technologies and tools.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with a distributed team across different time zones.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication(oral & written) and interpersonal skills
  • Would be a plus: Familiarity with Networking concepts.
  • Familiarity with Open Source projects and contributions.
  • Experience with Linux and bash scripting.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD tooling and mechanisms such as Jenkins and Github action
  • Experience with Service Mesh architecture and related technologies.
