Basic Function

The Talent Manager will lead equitable talent development and performance management programs globally. This role will partner directly with specific lines of business and function as a strategic talent and performance lead, partnering with HR Business partners and the People Leaders to meet their strategic goals. This role will collaborate with other Talent Managers to design and implement high impact talent programs, building capabilities of our future leaders and the skills needed to help their team members thrive. This role will also foster a culture of growth and continuous performance management, along with further embedding our core competencies in support of LyondellBasell's strategic goals and objectives.

Roles & Responsibilities

The Talent Manager will develop a deep understanding of the business to identify talent needs of the future, proactively identifying talent gaps and opportunities for growth while embedding equitable processes and interrupting bias. This role will seek talent and performance insights with a strong analytical mindset.

Talent Management

  • Provide strategic leadership for global talent development, including functional and regional annual talent reviews and quarterly discussions with the CEO/Leadership Team, aligned with your dedicated line of business.
  • Identify, design, and execute talent development strategies, processes, and programs to meet business needs proactively.
  • Lead our global HR leaders on the annual talent cycle, ensuring consistency, and lead talent training and certification for HR Business Partners and People Managers.
  • Partner with global senior business and HR leaders, understanding business drivers and gaps to assess cross-functional talent needs.
  • Collect, analyze, and maintain data for targeted leadership development, including talent pools, succession planning, and movement analysis.
  • Manage global executive coaching assignments, overseeing engagements and results, serving as an in-house coach for high potential and diverse talent, aligned with your dedicated line of business.
  • Collaborate with external vendors and the Learning & Development team to design high-potential and senior leader learning offerings.
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition to develop sourcing strategies to build a diverse, qualified talent pipeline.
  • Identify best practices and drive continuous improvements to elevate talent management, and manage business specific, ad hoc talent needs with agility.

Performance Management

  • Lead our global HR and business leaders through the annual performance management process, fostering a culture of continues feedback and improvement, functioning as a consultant partner with your dedicated line of business.
  • Identify, design, and execute performance management strategies, processes, and programs to meet business needs proactively.
  • Coach HR Business Partners on the performance management process and meeting facilitation, providing guidance and sharing best practices.
  • Use analytical expertise to develop, track, review, and analyze performance management metrics, and effectively communicate findings to stakeholders, from HR and business leaders to the Executive Committee.
  • Lead the development of the Executive Leadership Team presentations, reviewing insights and summarizing metrics and developing concise solutions.
  • Partner with the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion team on key metrics supporting DEI goals.
  • Collaborate with HR Management Systems, Total Rewards, and HR Business Partners to identify improvements, recommending and implementing changes.
  • Embed employee competencies into all key people processes, ensuring alignment with strategic goals, and monitor the effectiveness of competencies to drive expected behaviors.
Min. Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 15+ years of progressive experience in Human Resources roles, or 10 years HR experience with 3+ years experience in talent management.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products, and skilled with MS Excel.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Education within psychology, training, human resource management, operational excellence, or a related field would be preferred.
  • Advanced degree in related field preferred.
  • Experience utilizing assessment tool for needs assessment, manager and employee development, selection, team effectiveness, employee engagement preferred.
  • Additional language preferred
