In this role, you'll take the lead at the exciting crossroads of consultation and execution-listening, deciphering, formulating, and implementing. By forging strategic partnerships with customers to define precise requirements and devising dynamic action plans, you will open the gateway to unparalleled customer satisfaction. At the same time, your capability to facilitate training, discovery and design sessions will help our clients unlock the full potential of data through effective governance and AI-driven solutions, thus offering strategic technical support. At data.world, you will:

  • Partner with customer's business and technical teams to understand requirements and devise strategies and broaden their programs' scopes
  • Own the consulting and technical deliverables throughout the customer lifecycle, assuring successful integration and platform functionality and fostering growth
  • Collaborate with customers to refine technical processes, ensuring data.world's platform is optimally aligned with their data infrastructure and business needs
  • Assist in developing practical solutions, coding scripts, and performing data manipulation tasks as needed.
  • Contribute to the creation of technical documentation and support materials for customer guidance.
  • Excellent communication skills to articulate business and technical concepts and platform capabilities clearly to individuals across the technical spectrum, with the confidence to discuss project plans with enterprise executives.
  • Work closely with department leader to scope, write, and present SOWs as needed
  • Travel within US approximately 20%

We'd love to see:

  • 5+ years in the data governance, data cataloging or data management space specifically in delivering value to customers. Similar experience in consultative, customer-facing data roles is also considered valuable.
  • Consultative problem-solving skills to create value for customers, with the ability to integrate technical knowledge into a consultative process
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including listening, presenting, qualifying, and navigating objections and concerns
  • Proven ability to hold conversations at the C level and with IT teams - tailoring the information and delivery to the audience and their technical proficiency
  • Highly motivated, personality, with a passion about our vision and the space
  • Detail-oriented, with a keen eye for identifying potential issues before they arise
  • An appetite to learn. You're curious and excited to improve your process, and always looking to learn. You ask questions and don't shy away from challenges.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects across a variety of customers at all times, understanding the degrees of criticality while ensuring all deadlines are met
  • High degree of emotional intelligence to effectively work with diverse customers and teams
  • Willingness to engage in the nuts and bolts of technical implementation, including coding, system integration, and customization.
  • An appetite to try new things. You're curious and excited to improve your process, and always looking to learn. You ask questions and don't shy away from challenges.

Big pluses include:

  • Prior experience in the data catalog, data governance, data analytics, data science and/or data engineering roles.
  • Familiarity with RDF, SPARQL and other semantic web technologies
  • Understanding of how enterprise data solutions are managed and secured at scale
  • Understanding of large scale enterprise architecture, and tech stacks
