WHAT YOU WILL DO:

As the Electronic Technician Maintenance II, responsibilities will include but may not be limited to:

  • Performs PMCS, troubleshoots and isolates faults.
  • Uses spare/repair parts to repair faults IAW technical guidelines.
  • Researches and selects repair parts needed.
  • Enters work order data in the on-line management information system.
  • Applies basic and advanced technical knowledge to solve routine problems by interpreting manufacturers' manuals or similar documents.

ABOUT YOU:

  • Associate degree in electronic technology (or equivalent) from an accredited school, college or university; or two years minimum work experience in a related discipline; or two years related military training or a combination of education and experience with electronics testing/troubleshooting.
  • Good written and oral communications skills, strong organizational skills, computer proficiency, and the ability to work under strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good analytical, problem-solving, customer service and decision-making skills.
  • Must be able to obtain/maintain a valid driver's license and On-Post driving privileges.
  • Must be able to wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel).
  • Install and configure targets and instrumentation hardware and devices.
  • Maintain, repair, troubleshoot, modify, and install various types of electronic equipment and related devices such as electronic transmitting and receiving equipment (e.g., Computer Network devices, video monitors, telecommunication equipment, fiber optic communication devices, cameras, and low light emitters).
  • Basic and some advanced technical knowledge to solve routine problems by interpreting manufacturers' manuals or similar documents.
  • Must have the ability to travel extensively within the United States and OCONUS. Trips range from 7 - 45 days and can be back-to-back.

PREFERRED SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Read electrical schematics and understand basic electronic symbols.
  • Trace, identify, diagnose, and repair electronic equipment problems.
  • Familiarity with the interrelationships of circuits and judgment in planning work sequence, in selecting tools, testing instruments, and is reviewed for compliance with accepted practices.
  • Technical knowledge of electronics principles in determining equipment malfunctions and applied skill in restoring equipment operation.
  • Operate After Action Review (AAR) work station.
  • Experience with external control computer system (EXCON) work station and systems exercise controller (SYSCON).
