PURPOSE:

The LV EV Systems Engineer is responsible for the system engineering activities of the overall electrified eBeam drive system including those encompassed within ASPICE SYS.1 through SYS.5, intake of customer requirements, their analysis and decomposition, system architectural design, system integration and test. The Systems Engineer will be responsible for working closely with product chief engineers, engineering program managers, and other relevant stakeholders such as subsystem, software, manufacturing, etc.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

* Lead all systems engineering activities on assigned program in support of product chief engineer, design/development activities, and customers.
* Lead collection of stakeholder requirements, create overall system level functional and non-functional requirements, decompose, allocate requirements to components, create integration and verification criteria.
* Lead activities related to overall system architectural design, defined interfaces between components of the system, define static and dynamic behavior of overall system.
* Support in creating and maintaining processes related to system engineering as pertains to ASPICE, ISO26262, cybersecurity and industry best practices.
* Lead coordination of supporting service providers and ensure efficient allocation of resources contracted to support systems engineering activities.
* Lead or support system FMEA, FTA, and similar activities.
* Lead or support RFI/RFQ process by defining best overall system architecture to meet internal and external KPIs such as time, cost, performance.
* Perform system level calculations to budget for system performance, response time, etc.
* Help with defining system level verification and validation.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS

* Bachelor's Degree in Engineering; Master's Degree preferred
* 3+ years of experience with EV propulsion and related powertrain and vehicle technologies
* 3+ years of experience leading systems engineering activities and requirements management
* Experience with Functional Safety (ISO26262, IEC 61508, EN13849) and ASPICE
* Automotive product life cycle (APQP) preferred
* Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build relationships with all functions and levels across the organization
* AGILE/SAFe development experience preferred

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

* Knowledge of requirement management tools such as Polarion or Doors
* Working knowledge of MATLAB/Simulink, Enterprise Architect or other simulation tools
* Understanding of control algorithms, electrical/mechanical hardware design and limitations
* Strong interpersonal skills to work with people at all levels within and outside Dana in a professional manner
* Ability to multi-task effectively on projects and assignments
* Ability to work effectively under pressure in order to meet deadlines and goals
* A team player, who is both flexible and creative in their approach to problem-solving
* Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills required in English
