POSITION SUMMARY

The Safety Coordinator works as part of a team to assist in safety, health, environmental risk and loss prevention per OSHA guidelines. The Safety Coordinator's assigned team will be the Safety Department.

POSITION DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Identify, develop, and implement training and education relative to safety, health, environmental risk and loss prevention per OSHA guidelines.
  • Ensure proper closure is obtained for accident investigations, National Safety Council audits, corporate safety inspection audits and plant safety inspections.
  • Provide support and training to Production Supervisors and Coordinators to resolve ergonomic opportunities and other safety issues.
  • Ensure all safety related training is completed and documented according to published schedules.
  • Comply with safety, quality, and productivity requirements and procedures.
  • Regular/dependable attendance required.
  • Flexibility of work hours including overtime * Use of hand tools and machinery is required to maintain equipment and buildings.
  • Must be able to work well with little or no supervision.
  • Participates in EFCO's Continuous Improvement efforts by understanding his/her team's performance and actively implementing and supporting process improvements.
  • Coordinate, Lead and facilitate all Safety related incident investigations/reviews.
  • Identify, develop, and facilitate training and education for all safety, health and environmental risks as per OSHA requirements.
  • Lead and facilitate New Employee Safety Orientation/Onboarding program.
  • Lead all safety audit programs which include but not limited to monthly training topic program, monthly workplace OSHA audit program, and other behavior-based audit program.
  • Maintains employee training documentation such as Lock Out Tag Out and Powered Machinery Programs.
  • Lead monthly Safety Committee meeting and initiatives.
  • Participates in Continuous Improvement events and process improvements.
  • Provides EFCO Leadership a weekly recap of the specified safety metrics of their assigned areas.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Manufacturing experience is preferred.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Noise level requires hearing protection.

Seasonal high/low temperatures and humidity.

Elevated Heights.

Must be willing and able to comply with all plant safety regulations including wearing appropriate PPE when on the production floor.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

Occasional travel related to other sites / corporate.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Distances and Heights: May lift general office supplies up to 10 pounds from table height and carry up to 50 feet.
