Responsibilities

A Regional Retail Banking Manager is responsible for administering and directing retail branch functions and activities in order to ensure the prompt and effective delivery of products and services to consumers within the Bank's market area. This position will develop branch network goals and implement strategies to achieve goals as part of the Bank's annual strategic plan, monitor branch activities, directly supervise assigned personnel, communicate and provide reports to management and participate in regional advisory board meetings.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Solicit new business and lending opportunities from current and prospective customers
  • Provide leadership and direct assigned region's activities to build a successful retail branch delivery system with concentration on customer service, growth, profitability, service quality, efficiency and risk management/loss control
  • Establish annual goals and objectives for districts and assigned branches; communicate and approve goals, monitor branch performance and set appropriate improvement plans where applicable
  • Participate in the process of developing marketing/sales plans for the consumer segment within assigned region including sales, customer service, objectives and strategies
  • Participate in review of Branch Profitability and provide recommendations for branch efficiency
  • Provide feedback on results from Key Measures Report
  • Provide input to Manager and Senior Vice President of Retail Banking in the development of regional advertising and promotional ideas for use the in the consumer services segment
  • May provide leadership on certain global initiatives, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure successful implementation and execution
  • Perform periodic succession planning
  • Mentor and develop branch staffing including future managers and lenders
  • Optimize employee engagement by utilizing tools such as the MyVoice survey to assess and improve employee satisfaction and productivity
  • Coach region's business development efforts, goal achievements and efforts to help customers
  • Assist and review rate exception requests from the branch for further consideration by Senior Management
  • Focus on CRA efforts
  • Act as liaison to assigned region on marketing issues and communicate information relating to products and services to branches
  • Assist in enhancement of regional advertising strategies to boost the region's visibility
  • Assist with working with department heads to resolve problems, exception issues, enhancing the efficiency of operations and training staff as needed for these resolutions
  • Provide ideas for new products and services designed to meet the needs of the consumer segment
  • Coordinate with Branch Administration and Human Resources to determine branch FTE, make appropriate recommendations, and support bank FTE goals
  • Review and act on requests for branch community contributions, donations and small publication advertising
  • Coordinate business development and Officer Call program with District Managers; monitor and evaluate established goals of calling officers
  • Provide guidance to branch personnel and field questions/concerns to appropriate department heads for resolution
  • Coordinate regular district and manager meetings and training sessions
  • Engage in collaborative efforts (Community Connect) with business partners to spur organic growth in retail, business and municipal services while encouraging similar behavior from staff
  • Participate in regional pricing deposit products and regularly evaluate regional competitors
  • Take part in local activities to enhance market presence and promote regional initiatives
  • Develop annual goals for assigned branches; monitor branch adherence to goal items
  • Determine Branch Award Winners for Annual Managers Meeting
  • Assist with the capital expenditure budget process for assigned region
  • Review and approve expense vouchers for direct reports
  • Conduct goal planning and performance reviews of personnel and assist managers with the Cultivate Program
  • Integrates our core values into daily tasks, interactions, and decision-making processes, reflecting our commitment to excellence, humility, teamwork and integrity
  • Conduct performance reviews of personal and assist managers with the Cultivate Program
  • Interview and hire applicable branch management and regional lending positions
  • Participate in salary, MIP and round-table recommendations for regional branch management staff
  • Participate and assist with management of the process for Branch mergers, consolidations and/or relocations. Perform other related duties as assigned or directed
  • Maintain proficient knowledge of, and demonstrate ongoing compliance with all laws and regulations applicable to this position, ensure ongoing adherence to pertinent policies, procedures, and internal controls, and meet all training requirements in a timely manner

Ancillary Duties:

  • As an integral member of the Retail Banking Department, this position is also responsible to provide assistance wherever necessary to help the Department and the Bank in achieving their annual goals.
  • Actively participate in the CRA Committee


Qualifications

Education, Training and Requirements:

  • B.S. or B.A. Degree in a related field of study, or equivalent experience
  • Specialized banking education and training
  • Valid driver's license
  • All applicants must be 18 years of age or older

Experience:

  • Minimum five (5) years in a supervisory role in a multiple branch environment preferred

Skills:

  • Proficient reading, writing, grammar and mathematic skills
  • Proficient interpersonal relationship and communication abilities
  • Evidence of positive and effective leadership skills
  • Computer knowledge
  • Experience associated with implementing consumer banking strategies
  • Strong working knowledge of banking operations which impact consumer service functions
  • High level of demonstrated management and supervisory skills
