We are looking for an experienced and motivated individual to fill the position of Production Optimization Lead within U.S. Onshore Resources & Carbon Management - Enhanced Oil Recovery (ORCM EOR) Waterfloods Subsurface organization in Houston, Texas.

The Production Optimization Lead is responsible for the performance of asset's production team consisting of multidisciplinary engineering and geoscience staff. The POL and their team conducts production and reservoir surveillance and is responsible for optimizing artificial lift, artificial lift design, identifying and implementing workover/enhancement opportunities, preparing well intervention procedures, working with development team(s) to select artificial lift for wedge wells, flowback surveillance, production forecasting/outlooking, regulatory compliance, OPEX/CAPEX accruals and forecasting.

Description:

  • Responsible for reservoir management through well surveillance practices, well enhancement and field review processes through multi-disciplinary collaboration to identify and carry out production improvement opportunities on wells and operations.
  • Ensure work prioritization and quality of technical work.
  • Manage the multi-disciplinary team to prioritize, plan, schedule, and execute projects such as new well flowbacks, well repairs, re-completions, artificial lift revisions, acid jobs, plug and abandon (P&A), temporary plug and abandon (T&A), etc.
  • Support implementation of integrated development plans.
  • Collaborate with Oxy functional groups and Production Operations to assimilate, screen, and evaluate new value-adding technologies for inclusion in well optimization and surveillance.
  • Facilitate alignment and allocation of resources.
  • Create an environment where team members make the day-to-day decisions while providing the tools, training, and support needed to make those decisions.
  • Ensure working environment is conducive to productivity to meet Asset targets.
  • Remove roadblocks, manage conflict (internal and external), and drive collaboration.
  • Develop staffing plans, coach and mentor team members, and facilitate career development, training, and succession planning.
  • Ensure business decisions are based on quality technical work using quality data.
  • Manage, communicate, and ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations and Oxy standards, guidelines, policies, and procedures.

Qualifications

Education: BS / MS in Engineering and equivalent operational experience in operations and maintenance

Experience: 10+ or more years of industry experience in operations, production and maintenance and/or production engineering.

Professional and Technical Knowledge: Strong production, artificial lift and workover experience. Knowledge of the technical engineering methods used to create value through production optimization. Working knowledge of facilities and reservoir.
