Job Description

CompleteRx is looking for an Operations Specialist (Traveling CPhT) who enjoys implementing hospital pharmacy projects involving new accounts, account closures, automated dispensing systems, packaging systems, and other projects. To meet the needs of our partnered hospitals, the position requires up to 100% travel and candidates must be based in Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, or Houston.

Position Summary

The Operations Specialist is a nationally certified pharmacy technician acting as a project resource. The Operations Specialist will act as a "Change Agent" in facilitating positive change within a new or existing hospital account by providing hands-on training with any changes or processes that need to be implemented with regards to all areas of hospital pharmacy including Operational, Regulatory, Compliance, Purchasing, and Economic cost saving initiatives. The Operations Specialist will fill the role of Interim Buyer or Interim Automation Manager as needed and will be an integral part of the training and development of pharmacy buyers and technician staff.

What You Will Do

Complete projects on time, within budget, and with a high level of quality:

  • Utilize project management methodology per Project Management Professional (PMP) guidelines.
  • Act as subject matter expert responsible for implementing project deliverables.
  • Implement project deliverables for:
    • New account openings.
    • Inventory preparation.
    • Account exits.
    • Automated dispensing system projects:
      • New system installations.
      • Existing system upgrades.
      • Existing system reconfigurations/optimization.
      • Decommission existing systems.
    • Sterile products training:
      • Aseptic technique.
      • 797 compliance.
      • Training and recertification:
        • Large and small volume preparation.
        • TPN preparation.
        • Chemotherapy preparation.
    • Data set builds:
      • Bar coding.
      • Automated dispensing systems.
    • Custom projects as needed.

Facilitate rapid cycle process improvement events:

  • Utilize Plan Do Study Act methodology.
  • Function as facilitator rapid cycle improvement events.
  • Prepare workflow maps, collect data, document procedures, and training materials.

Function as Interim Buyer:

  • Place orders.
  • Receive orders.
  • Restock product.
  • Submit invoices.

Function as Interim Automation Manager:

  • Review diversion reports daily and address outliers.
  • Review operational reports.
  • Manage min/max levels; Adjust levels as needed.
  • Review and reconcile daily discrepancy reports.

Contribute to the company:

  • Participate in company initiatives to achieve corporate strategic objectives.

What You Will Need

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a pharmacy technician with a National Pharmacy Technician Certification.
  • Previous hands-on experience with some form of automated dispensing system (i.e. Pyxis, Omnicel, Accudose).
  • Trained in general use of pharmacy computer systems; Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Ability to travel via plane, automobile, or other means with occasional overnight (up to 100%) and occasional weekend travel.
