Principal Communications Associate

If so, you may be a perfect match for our Principal Communications Associate role within the Financial Services Associate Communications team.

We are looking for an influential communicator who can articulate our strategy to Associates with creativity, clarity and heart across a variety of internal channels. In this role, you'll develop creative content closely aligned to business strategies and key initiatives. You will also manage internal communications channels and partner with executive leaders to ensure key messages reach target audiences and generate the intended outcomes. Finally, you will play a key role in our team's innovation journey, driving solutions leveraging data and technology to advance our communications capabilities and streamline processes.

The ideal candidate will be highly effective at navigating a matrix organization and influencing people by leveraging communications expertise, complex problem solving skills and a keen ability to work in whitespace. General Responsibilities:

  • Execute and build communications strategies for business activities and key initiatives

  • Manage internal communications channels, including e-newsletters, executive messages, intranet news and associate-generated content; includes news writing and channel distribution

  • Leverage data and insights to drive internal marketing strategies and campaigns, optimizing the strategy based on past results, future needs, Associates' behaviors/preferences, and ongoing test-and-learn agenda

  • Partner with our data team to drive innovative communications solutions

  • Partner cross-functionally on key projects/initiatives with the ability to manage input from a variety of stakeholders, navigate ambiguity and work autonomously

  • Work with executive-level leaders on communications, including crafting quarterly business updates and event talking points

  • Openly and actively contribute as a member of the Financial Services Communications team, identifying key opportunities and taking the lead on developing content/solutions that address key needs

  • Ensure that communications:

  • Tell an articulate, consistent story, with a strong voice and in the right channels

  • Inspire confidence in Financial Services' leadership and business strategy

  • Help our Financial Services businesses achieve their targeted results

  • Are focused, accurate, and aligned with the FS Communications approach and voice

  • Highly effective communications skills with outstanding writing and editing abilities

  • Knowledge of AP Style

Competencies:

  • Highly motivated, proactive, flexible and results-oriented - willing to roll up your sleeves and get the job done, even in situations where the work is outside of the scope of your respective role

  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with exceptional judgment and the ability to pay painstaking attention to detail and deliver against tight timelines

  • Keen process orientation and ability to work independently to solve problems

  • Strong organizational and prioritization capabilities

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent certification

  • At least 3 years of experience in corporate communications or marketing

  • At least 2 years of experience in communication strategy development for a department or company

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Marketing, English or Journalism

  • 4+ years of experience in corporate communications, marketing or writing

  • 3+ years of experience in communication strategy development for a department or company

  • 3+ years of experience in project, program or process management

  • 3+ years of experience communicating to both broad and targeted audiences

  • 3+ years of experience in industry best practices and developing testing strategies
