Job Description

Air Liquide Large Industries provides our customers with industrial gas and energy solutions that are vital to their own industrial production. We own and operate over 2,000 miles of industrial gas pipelines in the U.S. supplying mainly oxygen, nitrogen, hydrogen and syngas in large quantities from multiple production sources to major customers in the chemicals, petrochemicals, refining and steel industries. Our pipeline operations and industrial gas production facilities are closely monitored 24/7 within our leading-edge operations control center located in Houston, Texas. Our operations control group monitors over 89,000 data points and assists with product supply and coordination. We are constantly optimizing our supply network to provide high reliability and energy efficiencies allowing Air Liquide to adjust supply needs more quickly and effectively enabling growth to our customers.

How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?

This position is the primary contact for all DCS / PLC control system and troubleshooting issues. The Control Systems focal point providing or coordinating technical assurance of control systems.

  • Implement and supervise preventive routine maintenance of control systems and interfaces, including hardware and software.

  • Provide technical and troubleshooting support to operations for process events as it relates to control systems.

  • Review and implement control system upgrades/modifications according to established Management of Change policy and in compliance with corporate and industry guidelines.

  • Lead the development of long-range control system strategies for obsolescence and upgrades.

  • Participate in Level 1-3 incident investigations to evaluate root cause of control system related events.

  • Participate in plant level automation projects of existing equipment or new equipment installations including Factory Acceptance Testing, Site Acceptance Testing, project start-up and troubleshooting activities.

  • Ensure all system configurations and graphics are backed up and archived according to established guidelines and policies.

  • Provide technical support in the development of SOP's as related to control system operations, as required.

  • Provide input to TAR planning, scope of work and job plans.

  • Provide support during TAR and start up activities.

  • Participate in technical and safety reviews (e.g. PHA) to ensure HSSE compliance and technical integrity in design.Technical oversight of control system Bad Actor list.

  • Train and advise maintenance personnel in basic control system troubleshooting.- Define and maintain adequate control system spares inventory.

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering required; Chemical or Electrical Engineering Degree preferred.

  • Candidates must have valid employment authorization in the U.S. and must not require visa sponsorship now or in the future. This position is not open for non-immigrant visa sponsorship.

  • Experience in the following systems:Foxboro I/A, Bailey Infi 90, Siemens APACS, Emerson Delta V, Yokogawa, Siemens 505 series PLCs, InTouch Wonderware, Windows operating system and Networking

  • Proficient in MS Office products, GMAIL and Google Apps

  • Must have strong oral and written communication skills.

  • Must be able to effectively interact and communicate with all levels of personnel.

  • Willing to carry a cellular phone, respond to requests for technical assistance during off-duty hours
