The DevOps Engineer II will be responsible for automating and maintaining configurations, deployments, integrations, and monitoring. Additionally, they will help resolve service incidents, improve custom application performance, and assist software engineering with planned improvements and projects. The DevOps Engineer II position will maintain legacy applications while working with application development to migrate these applications to modern frameworks in cloud environments. The role will include extensive coordination with the application, development, and security teams. The DevOps Engineer II will design and implement automation to support business processes or technology. An ability to rapidly learn new technologies and environments to ensure a superior level of customer service is a must. They are responsible for incorporating and adhering to requirements defined by security and enterprise architecture.

Responsibilities
    Create, configure, and maintain CI/CD pipelines as well as enforcing and adjusting standards as needed
  • Configure, monitor, and maintain applications, services, and environments
  • Deploy container-based applications and services
  • Configuration as Code (CaC)
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC) (terraform experience a plus)
  • Innovate on pipelines including build, test, and deployment stages
  • Identify improvements and areas for innovation in the codebase to drive a DevOps culture
  • Create and document designs, processes, and standards
  • Consult on custom developed application architecture
  • Assist technical and non-technical teams with application update rollouts
  • Suggest and implement improvements to existing software development processes and workflows
  • Promote communication, integration, and collaboration for enhanced software development productivity
  • Ensure all changes comply with change management policies and procedures

Qualifications

Education Level: Bachelor's Degree

Job Related Skills/Competencies:

  • 5+ yrs. relevant experience.

  • Experience with AWS or Azure

  • Experience with PowerShell and configuration as code

  • Experience with source control, Gitlab, CI/CD, and containers (e.g. Docker Images)

  • Experience with observability and monitoring solutions (Dynatrace experience a plus)

  • Experience with Atlassian tools a plus (e.g. Jia, Confluence, Bamboo)

  • Experience with Agile processes and methods a plus

  • Experience with Kubernetes a plus

  • Experience with serverless code or FaaS a plus (e.g. Lambda in AWS)

  • Development experience with any of the listed technologies a plus (.NET, Java, JavaScript, Python)

  • Experience with relational databases a plus (SQL Server, Oracle, Sybase, Postgres, AWS Aurora, Azure SQL)

  • Experience with modern multi-tier applications
