Job Description

Ecolab is looking for a Maintenance Manager to join our management team in Fresno, TX. As Maintenance Manager, you will help drive a culture of safety and reliability by supporting processes to maintain and improve the integrity of production and the quality of plant systems. We are seeking a manager with experience in routine, breakdown, and preventative maintenance of equipment in a chemical manufacturing facility while promoting and facilitating Lean/TPM concepts with a diverse group of people. The Maintenance Manager leads a team of employees comprised of reliability engineers, facility maintenance, maintenance planning, administrative staff, and a maintenance supervisor who manages hourly maintenance technicians.

In this role, you will be responsible for plant and building equipment maintenance, new building design, and the construction and installation of new equipment to ensure safe and efficient plant and facility operations. You will also facilitate the plant's continuous improvement journey with Total Productive Maintenance (TPM). In this highly visible role, you will report to the Plant Manager and interact with outside suppliers, Global Supply Chain functional leaders, and peers on the plant leadership team.

What You Will Do:

  • Responsible for the safety of maintenance and outside contractor's personnel. Supports the manufacturing safety culture and drives Goal Zero initiatives.
  • Responsible for plant-owned building maintenance and repair. Ensures that plant equipment and apparatuses are in good operating order.
  • Contact vendors regarding costs and availability of equipment. Supervises the purchasing and installation of equipment covered by capital authorization requests.
  • Support the Engineering Manager in the design of new process systems and recommend new equipment for expanding or improving production and new processes.
  • Partners with the TPM Manager to drive a culture of TPM through teamwork within and across departments. Utilizes TPM to eliminate losses and increase facility effectiveness so that safety is advanced, processes and equipment are reliable, quality is stabilized/improved, and operating costs are reduced.
  • Prioritizes daily work schedule and execution of work order backlog.
  • Communicate with management regarding all plant, TPM, and maintenance operations.
  • Performance management of maintenance personnel including annual reviews, goal-setting processes, and disciplinary actions. Ensure adequate training, development, and progression for technical staff.
  • Prepares and administers annual department budget. Monitors expenses throughout the year to ensure costs are within the amounts budgeted.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical engineering, or a related engineering field
  • 5+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment to include chemical, refining, or similar.
  • 2+ years of supervisory experience
  • Immigration sponsorship not available for this role


Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in batch chemical production, process engineering or plant management
  • 3+ years of experience applying Lean and TPM principles in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience in negotiating contracts and purchasing related equipment
  • Experience supporting large-scale capital management projects
  • Ability to motivate, direct and communicate with professional (technical), production and crafts personnel
  • Extensive experience using MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint), SAP, ERP and other relevant computer software and maintenance management systems to include Prometheus planning and scheduling or similar
