Mead & Hunt has an exceptional opportunity for a highly motivated person to perform construction inspection/contract administration for airport and other transportation related projects at Minnesota Airports.

Responsibilities include:

  • managing construction contracts for heavy civil projects
  • reading and interpreting construction plans and specifications
  • reviewing contractor submittals for constructability and compliance
  • measuring, surveying as needed, calculating and documenting quantities
  • assisting with drafting tasks using CAD software
  • maintaining daily construction logs
  • may serve as on-site Resident Project Representative (RPR)

This position requires heavy lifting, working outside in a variety of conditions on a regular basis, and ability to perform work independently. Travel to construction sites is an essential function of this position; a valid driver's license is required. Extended hours and overnight stays may be required.

Successful candidates must have one of the following education and experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering, or related field from an accredited secondary institution plus four years relevant experience
  • Associate degree (or higher) in construction management, engineering, or related field from an accredited secondary institution plus six years of relevant experience
  • If no degree, must have at least eight years of relevant work experience

Ideal candidates will have any/all of the following:

  • 15+ years of related transportation experience
  • 10 + years construction materials testing and/or observation
  • ability to provide AutoCAD and Civil 3D support
  • materials testing (state certifications preferred) & safety certifications
  • experience using total station and GPS survey equipment
  • construction survey experience
  • experience with airport construction projects
