The American Red Cross is currently seeking a Product Owner - Web and App. This position can be located anywhere in the continental United States.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THIS ROLE:

The Product Owner - Web and App is responsible for overseeing the development of our digital products/platforms from start to finish to ensure they meet the business and user/donor needs. These platforms include www.redcrossblood.org and iOS and Android Blood Donor Apps.

Their main duties include:

* influencing the overall vision of products,

* being the main technical SME for the products and related integration points with other systems,

* managing the backlog,

* prioritizing features for implementation,

* translate business strategies and product features and communicate to the scrum team as acceptance criteria, and

* leading the entire product development process for both products.


Our team relies heavily on strong collaboration within as well as across the organization as we research user and business needs and determine which features to include on products. As the technical SME, we will also look to this Product Owner (PO) for new feature ideas. The PO will then continue to act as the primary contact between

the scrum teams, and all other business and technical stakeholders.

After product development completion, the Product Owner will conduct a final review and submit their approval before releasing the product.

HOW WILL YOUR CAREER WILL BE A FORCE FOR GOOD:

* Collaborate with internal and external partners to identify and prioritize website and mobile app improvements that align with strategic business objectives and meet the needs of both key stakeholders and our users.

* Manage digital projects through complete product lifecycle including requirements documentation, development, testing and implementation.

* Liaison with IT and business stakeholders to prioritize development backlogs, coordinate releases, and roadmap future enhancements.

* Utilize strong analytic intelligence to understand user behaviors and trends in order to improve user engagement and optimize product performance.

* Driven by a curious mind of continuous improvement and loves to create testing and optimization plans aimed at optimizing the user's digital experience and improving critical conversion rates and measure.

* Deliver understandable and actionable verbal and written explanations of technical information around ideas, issues, and risks to all levels of internal customers - from product managers to executive management.

* Be the business' main point of contact/expertise for all things technical for both platforms.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • Bachelor's Degree, Technical Certificate, or equivalent experience required.
  • 5+ years of experience in website and mobile app product management.
  • Work experience as a Product Owner or similar technical role in product management.
  • Hands-on experience managing all stages of the product life cycle for both web and app products.
  • Technical background with knowledge of software development and web technologies
  • Working experience in an agile process and Jira software.
  • Ability to work remotely and collaborate effectively with multiple time zones across US and UK; experience working in a virtual environment (from home office).
  • Experience communicating complex digital concepts in engaging and creative ways.
  • Excellent interpersonal and time management skills.
  • High level of organization skills, energy, and intrinsic drive to make a difference.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to handle or feel; and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 15 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The work environment will consist of moderate noise (i.e. business office with computers, phones and printers, light traffic). The employee must have the ability to work in a small cubicle and have the ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period of time.

WHAT WILL GIVE YOU THE COMPETITIVE EDGE:

* Experience in managing web and app platforms that are on very different roadmaps.

* Experience in building alignment across different product roadmaps.

* Experience in the healthcare or pharmaceutical industry.

* Experience with Adobe Analytics or similar analytics tool.

* Experience with Adobe Experience Manager.

* Experience with design tools such as Figma, XD.

The salary range for this position is: $85,000 - $102,000
