Job Description
Job Objective:
The Environmental Manager serves as a subject matter expert who directs environmental specialists and technicians to assure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and corporate policies and goals. The Environmental Manager will support all operations in Harvest's footprint of gathering, compression, processing, and transportation of various commodities across the following states: Texas, Louisiana, Colorado, New Mexico, North Dakota, and Alaska.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Supervises and manages the responsibilities of the environmental department.
  • Manages the Environmental department to perform internal and support external audit and inspection programs.
    • Lead, direct, and train the team to implement best practices in the work environment.
  • Assists with and participates in the company's emergency response situations and spill management program.
  • Manages the company's spill response and federal response plans program.
  • Assists with due diligence and environmental remediation projects by tracking all essential documentation associated with projects.
  • Manages annual Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Tier II reporting programs.
  • Manages the environmental department programs associated with all air, water, norm, and waste permits programs.
  • Reviews all monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual reports associated with permits and environmental projects.
  • Manages the company's programs for environmental file recordkeeping.
  • Manages programs associated with permitting within wetlands, coastal management areas and other sensitive environment projects such as dredging, drilling structures and pipeline installation permits.
  • Manages environmental department matters associated with all mitigation and environmental compensation programs.
  • Manages day to day activities associated with environmental staff.
  • Prepare management reports and activities associated with environmental matters
  • Reports on environmental matters to Executive staff.
  • Adheres to the companies' values - integrity, ownership, urgency, alignment, and innovation.
  • Supports company vision and mission.
  • Adheres to established work schedule, attendance standards and is punctual to work and meetings.

Other Job Responsibilities:

  • Ability to be available 24 hours per day (on call for questions, emergencies, etc.).
  • Ability to travel to the field at a minimum of 25% or more as projects needs arise.
  • Maintains employee confidence and protects company assets, including intellectual property, by keeping information confidential.
  • Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional associations.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • Twelve (12+) years minimum environmental and regulatory management experience in oil and gas operations, preferably midstream and/or downstream operations.
  • Ability to accurately solve problems and exceptional proficiency in data management.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, other departments, officials, and the public.
  • Ability to complete multiple, diverse tasks of differing priorities.
  • Ability to travel to the field at a minimum of 25% or more as projects needs arise.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with specific ability to translate complex information into an organized and presentable manner.
  • Outstanding administrative and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in the use and application of the following software:
    • Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook).

Education Requirements:

  • Required: Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year university in Engineering, Environmental Science or Applied Sciences.
  • Preferred: Master's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or Applied Sciences.

Certifications, Licenses, Registrations:

  • CPEA, CEM, or REM
