Split Shift = Monday-Friday 10am-6pm or 12pm-8pm

2nd Shift = Monday-Friday 3:30pm-12am

JOB OBJECTIVE:

Supports manufacturing operations and its production by establishing and maintaining quality interpretations to comply with ASME code requirements and ISO standards. Implements and monitors Quality Assurance practices and procedures. Assesses quality problems and determines their root cause. Identifies non-conformities and determines their effects on production and offers alternate solutions.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Perform inspections on all product types to insure that the external,dimensional and/or functional aspects meet quality standards.

  • Track work through the shop, insuring mandatory inspections arecomplete and proper paper work is done.

  • Respond timely to requests for inspections.

  • Interface with management on non-conformities and recommendalternate solutions.

  • Perform incoming material inspections.

MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Present and implement best practices and procedures for qualityfor continuous improvement.

  • Work from written standard operating procedures, ASME coderequirements and ISO standards.

  • Perform dye penetrant inspections.

  • Perform housekeeping and other duties as required.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Lifting 50 lbs. (occasional), Standing (constant), Walking (frequently), Bending (occasional), Climbing (occasional), Crawling (occasional), Reaching (occasional), Grasping (occasional), Sitting (frequently), Judgment (frequently).

  • Must understand quality practices and procedures. Must possess the ability to communicate quality requirements and resource fabrication data throughout the organization.

  • Must understand and follow safety rules, regulations, policies and procedures. Work from written and oral instructions, prints or sketches. Vision corrected to 20/20. Must be able to distinguish contrasting colors for dye testing. Handling equipment and material (frequently).

ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS:

  • Manufacturing - Exposure to noise, dirt, dust, cold/heat (indoor), cold/heat (outdoor).

  • Job hazards of working around heavy equipment and machinery.

TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED:

  • Tape measure, calipers, micrometers, calculator and personal computer.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Possess a working knowledge of the ASME code, piping code and ASHRAE.

  • Ability to interface between departments when resolving non-conformities.

  • Ability to interact with customer representatives and authorized code inspectors.

  • Ability to read measuring devices and have basic knowledge of math, including fractions, acquired through the completion of high school.

  • As a condition of employment, active participation in a Continuous Improvement Team will be required.
