American Specialty Health Incorporated is seeking a Manager - Legal Operations to work with our Legal and Contracts team. This position will provide support to the in-house legal team, including the continual focus on core departmental processes to identify improvements with the end goal of achieving higher efficiencies.

Salary Range
American Specialty Health complies with state and federal wage and hour laws and compensation depends upon candidate's qualifications, education, skill set, years of experience, and internal equity. $69,200 to $75,000 Full-Time Annual Salary Range

Remote Worker Considerations

Candidates who are selected for this position may be trained virtually or onsite and must have the capability to work from home (WFH) in a designated work area with company-provided technology equipment.This remote/WFH position requires you have a stable connection to your Internet Service Provider with the ability to participate by video in online meetings over a reliable and consistent network (minimum internet download of 50 Mbps and 50 Mbps upload speed). This position will require occasional onsite office work. ASH requires all onsite employees and employees who travel for their position to review and acknowledge ASH's Communicable Disease and Pandemic Policy.

Responsibilities

  • Provides project management of legal operations and legal support functions.
  • Manage the legal team's strategic plan and overall operations, with a focus on increasing efficiency.
  • Assist with the legal team's ongoing work prioritization, collaborating with the business to meet legal and business needs.
  • Streamline the legal team's current workflows, including with and/or implementing technology solutions, if applicable.
  • Ensure proper and professional administrative support for legal and assigned executives.
  • Manage outside counsel and legal vendor arrangements including firm engagement, retention, billing, performance reviews, and firm compliance with all internal guidelines and requirements.
  • Promote Legal, and related team(s) training and development.
  • Manage and operationalize Legal Team onboarding process, including materials, initial meetings, and necessary training.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to plan, prepare and respond to business partner needs.
  • Manages eDiscovery and related processes in collaboration with attorneys, paralegals, and IT.
  • Manages various legal process including but not limited to subpoenas, litigation holds and Privacy requests.
  • Assists with and/or manages hands on legal related functions such as communications with counsel, filing (internally or externally), drafting and research, proper case management (e.g., timing, tracking, deadlines, document management, written reports, etc.).
  • Anticipates and performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department.
  • Establish and ensure strong processes and procedures for matter management within the legal, compliance, and regulatory functions.
  • Keeps clients, staff, and management informed by maintaining contact, communicating case and initiative progress.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications.
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of department manuals, documents, templates.
  • Ensures proper execution of various administrative functions for Legal counsel and related personnel, including expense reports, travel arrangements, meeting coordination and scheduling.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred. High school diploma required.
  • Minimum five (5) years legal administrative support/management.
  • Two or more years of paralegal or project management experience preferred.
  • 2 years of in house legal or related experience preferred.
  • Superior project management and organizational skills, with a demonstrated ability to track and analyze data to show results.

Mobility

Primarily sedentary, able to sit for long periods of time.

Physical Requirements

Ability to speak, see and hear other personnel and/or objects. Ability to communicate both in verbal and written form. Ability to travel within the facility. Capable of using a telephone and computer keyboard. Ability to lift up to 10 lbs.
