American Specialty Health, Inc. is seeking a Manager - DevSecOps to join our Consumer Technology QA department. The primary purpose of this position is to manage a portion of the DevSecOps engineers while fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement. This position implements and oversees DevOps/Quality Assurance practices and tools that lead to significant improvements in project delivery times and product quality.

Salary Range
American Specialty Health complies with state and federal wage and hour laws and compensation depends upon candidate's qualifications, education, skill set, years of experience, and internal equity. $125,000 to $150,00 Full-Time Annual Salary Range

Remote Worker Considerations

Candidates who are selected for this position will be trained remotely and must be able to work from home (WFH) in a designated work area with company-provided technology equipment.This remote/WFH position requires you have a stable connection to your Internet Service Provider with the ability to participate by video in online meetings over a reliable and consistent network (minimum internet download of 50 Mbps and 10 Mbps upload speed).

Responsibilities

  • Leading a portion of a growing DevSecOps engineering team.
  • Develops project plans, specifying goals, strategies, resource allocation, and scheduling.
  • Coordinates activities of DevSecOps engineers to ensure goal achievement within identified timeframes.
  • Researches and evaluates technology and processes; makes recommendations to improve team performance, productivity, and service to both internal and external customer.
  • Evaluates performance, coaches, counsels, and trains staff.
  • Manages staff including training, coaching, scheduling, and performance reviews.
  • Provides mentorship and identifies opportunities for cross-training and staff support.
  • Develops, manages, measures, and reports on key performance indicators and related metrics.
  • Performs trend analyses and develops action plans for improving availability, stability and reducing costs.
  • Manages Root Cause Analysis and Azure DevOps project boards.
  • Assists with technical knowledge to support active projects and incidents.
  • Responsible for maintaining and remediating reported vulnerabilities on owned hosts within established service level agreements.
  • Builds and maintains relationships with leadership team to ensure alignment and an understanding of business goals to minimize production disruption.
  • Maintains a knowledge Wiki to document and share information and procedures.
  • Stays abreast of industry trends and technology in DevSecOps and software quality.
  • Maintains a portion of the 24/7 incident escalation and is available for off-hour support when necessary.
  • Conducts and attends team, departmental, and staff meetings to discuss issues and foster teamwork.
  • Provides senior manager with regular departmental status reports.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in technology with emphasis in computer information systems or equivalent experience required. If equivalent experience, high school diploma required.
  • Minimum three years of experience managing technology platforms and software engineers.
  • Minimum five years applied systems administration/software development in a mission critical Windows/Linux hybrid/cloud environments and related infrastructure background.
  • Experience working with Agile methodologies, preferably Scrum.
  • Previous management experience preferred.

Core Competencies

  • Strong experience collaborating with development, operations, database, and security teams.
  • Experience in guiding teams through the development, testing, and deployment processes while fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Experience in creating and maintaining DevSecOps-related OKRs to assess department effectiveness and overall success.
  • Proven network troubleshooting skills with emphasis on Azure public/private DNS zones.
  • Strong knowledge of application/infrastructure monitoring practices and tools, preferred experience with Dynatrace and Azure Monitor platforms.
  • Azure cloud experience and either AZ-900 or AZ-104 certification preferred.
  • Experience in creation and management of cloud PaaS and IaaS resources, Microsoft Azure preferred.
  • Experience in managing a secure zero trust/private cloud environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact in a positive, respectful manner and establish and maintain cooperative working relationships.
  • Ability to display excellent customer service to meet the needs and expectations of both internal and external customers.
  • Excellent listening and interpersonal communication skills to identify critical core competencies based on success factors and organizational environment.
  • Ability to effectively organize, prioritize, multi-task and manage time.
  • Demonstrated accuracy and productivity in a changing environment with constant interruptions.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze information, problems, issues, situations, and procedures to develop effective solutions.
  • Ability to exercise strict confidentiality in all matters.

Mobility

Primarily sedentary, able to sit for long periods of time.

Physical Requirements

Ability to speak, see and hear other personnel and/or objects. Ability to communicate both in verbal and written form. Ability to travel within the facility. Capable of using a telephone and computer keyboard. Ability to lift up to 10 lbs.
