Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Materials Analyst works with suppliers, production, materials and inventory management to ensure the appropriate materials are available to meet the production schedule. Coordinates with inventory to time the shipment of specific materials in line with production schedules and inventory goals. Works with suppliers to procure the appropriate materials for production. May assist in the production scheduling process.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Utilize Industrial Engineering and Supply Chain Management concepts to Minimize Inventory, Handling and Logistics cost to ensure successful delivery of material at Optimum Cost.
  • Responsible for accuracy of Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) Releases to the Supplier, Freight Spending, Reconciliation of the Supplier Receipts for Accounts Payable.
  • Manage Material Inventory levels.
  • Manage Change Implementation during Product Launch.
  • Work with IT Teams and other functional departments to develop and Implement Enterprise Management Systems.
  • Ensure MBOM (Manufacturing Bill of Materials) are structured accurately in the MMS (Material Management Systems).
  • Ability to determine best production scheduling practices and complementing Inventory Control Strategies. Establishes Replenishment systems to be used for smooth Material Flow across the plant.
  • Co-ordination of Material Imports.
  • Ability to analyze large data sets of transactions to Root cause an issue.
  • Understanding of Financial Accounting Principles and execute strategies to improve KPI's (Key Performance Indicator's).
  • Use Appropriate Forecasting Techniques to order Material,
  • Determine Supply Chain Communication Strategies;
  • Identify and Process Supplier Claims and participates in conflict resolution under the boundaries,
  • Reviews and corrects any system error.

Environmental, Health & Safety:

  • Actively participates in Health/Safety/Environmental investigations and the 8D process in order to develop root cause analysis for problem resolution as required.
  • Reporting accidents, occupational illnesses, and HSE&E emergencies, and inform supervisor of known HSE&E conditions which could adversely affect other team members, assets or to the public.
  • Ensures compliance with all safety procedures and ensures safe working procedures in assigned production areas.

Customer Requirements:

Must understand and comply with all applicable Customer Specific Requirements (SQAM)

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain or related field. OR Associates with equivalent experience
  • 2+ Years Materials Experience in Manufacturing
  • Experience with ERP Systems...QAD preferred.
  • Experience with Excel

Language Skills:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, blueprints and procedure manuals. Candidate has the ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to add, subtracts, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Candidate has the ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Other Skills and Abilities:

Must be computer literate and familiar with appropriate software programs. Candidate has the ability to create visual aids for communication purposes.

Duties also include assisting in the day-to-day management of the Environmental Management System. Following all environmental work instruction and / or cleaning up spills or other duties required of the Environmental 1st Response Team.
