PURPOSE OF THE JOB

The Automation and Controls Multi-Craft Technician is an hourly position with the hybrid responsibility of maintaining all mechanical and electrical systems on all automation equipment in fabrication in addition to developing, testing, implementing programming logic and process control systems within said equipment.

Reports to: Fabrication Reliability Engineer

Span of Control: Maintains and troubleshoots all mechanical, electrical, and computer-controlled processes in Fabrication Automation

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Perform maintenance, repairs, installation, and troubleshooting of automated and robotic process systems and equipment.
* Repair of PLC control systems including, Allen-Bradley ControlLogix, MicroLogix, CompactLogix, SLC, PLC5, and Siemens S7.
* Interface with plant IS/IT Technician to ensure computer based process control systems are compatible with plant IS/IT architecture and comply with corporate IS/IT standards and rules.
* Provide technical support to projects to improve, upgrade, and modify process controls, instrumentation, and automated systems.
* Perform general electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on motors, motor starters, motor controls, and other general manufacturing electrical equipment.

Maintain programming documentation and flow diagrams for historical information.
* Responsible for maintaining historical records and records for all software changes.
* Retrieve work schedules and orders, and enter information into SAP for work performed and time confirmation

Perform maintenance on individual production and process control equipment and systems that include pneumatic and hydraulic equipment.
* Work with engineering drawings, electrical diagrams, simple and complex sketches, other related documents, and verbal field instructions needed to perform assigned duties.
* Perform mechanical and automotive welding and sheet metal work of a primary or secondary skill level using tools of the respective trades.
* Perform incidental pipefitting work, as required.
* Participate in the preventive and predictive maintenance programs.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
* Must be 18 years or older
* Must be able to read, write, and speak English
* Minimum high school diploma or equivalent is required
* Must be a US citizen or have the right to work in the US
* Must be drug free.
* Rotating shifts - days and nights 12-hour shift.
* Stand for extended prolonged periods during 12-hour shift.
* Lifting up to 50lbs
* Climbing and working ladders
* Climbing stairs
* Must have a two-year Associate degree in Electronic Systems Technology and/or four years related experience and or training in an industrial environment. Combination of college and experience will be given consideration.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
* Intermediate or industrial electrical experience/skills or prior qualifications as a PCS or electrician.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
* Data entry, analysis, and reporting
* Ability to multi-task
* Operate a computer or other keyboard instruments
* Knowledge of Microsoft Office products
* Must be able to work with and troubleshoot computer hardware applications, software applications, including computer architecture, networking, and software development specifically, Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Kuka Robotic Systems, and Fanuc Robotics Integration.
