The Pasadena, Tx, location is looking for a PA-Operator Trainee to join our dynamic team. This Operations position will be responsible for the day-to-day Operation of the Components Unit at the Pasadena Catalyst Site.
- Work from written and verbal instructions effectively.
- Operate equipment, monitor performance, and take appropriate corrective action to ensure safe and reliable operation.
- Operate both DCS and manual equipment.
- Unload and receive bulk raw materials into SAP.
- Transfer materials within the plant and pack out intermediate/finished products to the appropriate packaging.
- Record operating data/plant status, catch samples, interpret results and respond with the appropriate adjustments to troubleshoot the process.
- Assures proper handling of waste materials to meet all local, state and federal regulations.
- Performs designated SAP transactions associated with managing raw materials, production and maintenance.
- Perform Emergency Response functions as needed.
- Performs miscellaneous duties including routine maintenance, lock out of equipment, and issuance of safe work permits.
- Meets physical requirements as defined for position to include climbing, bending, lifting, etc., and respiratory and other required clearances. Must be able to move/lift up to 50 pounds without assistance and greaterthan 50 pounds with assistance.
- Performs all other job duties as assigned.
- Work assigned overtime when needed.
- Ability to work in a high hazard environment, including adverse weather conditions, elevated spaces, confined spaces, extreme temperatures, and noisy surroundings.
- Must be able to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb stairs and ladders over 100 ft.
- Must be willing to wear PPE (Personal Protective equipment) including but not limited to hard hat, protective eyewear, steel-toed boots, hearing protection, Level A suit, full face respirator
- Forklift Experience
- Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with various departments with effective verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to determine measurements, make calculations and read various instruments, gauges and meters
- High School Diploma or GED
- 2 years Operations experience in a manufacturing setting or AA in Process Technology
