Technical Engineer
Description/Job Summary

I. POSITION OBJECTIVE:

Provide technical support to the production function of efficiently manufacturing consistent quality. Provide troubleshooting assistance to the production group in all production areas. Establish and maintain programs and systems to improve the quality consistency of our products. Develop and design new products as required.

II. QUALIFICATIONS:

1. B.S./MS degree in Chemical /Plastic/ Polymer Engineering with minimum 3-year blown film experience.

2. Ability to communicate effectively with production operators and plant.

3. Blown film / multi-layer extrusion film formulation experience is plus.

4. Additional experience in statistical methods or statistical process control techniques (MiniTab software) is plus.

5. Additional education in Polymer Science or Technology is a plus.

6. Certificate of ASQ is a plus.

III. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Monitor quality and productivity of all aspects of the production pocess on a daily basis.

2. Propose modifications to equipment or procedural changes to remedy chronic quality and productivity problems.

3. Utilize technical skills to optimize the characteristics of experimental products.

4. Utilize statistical techniques to improve the quality consistency of our products and identify sources of process variability.

5. Utilize process knowledge and electrical/mechanical troubleshooting skills to identify processing equipment malfunctions which are creating productivity or quality abnormalities.

6. Search and maintain raw materials as well as product specifications.

7. Use statistical techniques to modify quality control specifications based on process characteristics.

8. Provide technical service to customers and marketing function as required.
