The Leveraged Finance Portfolio Manager is responsible formaintaining a portfolio of active customer names while supporting efforts to analyze new opportunities. In addition to an increased leverage profile, transactions in this space often include a Private Equity/Sponsor component. Primary performance responsibilities include aiding in the structuring and underwriting of credit requests, successfully closing new business relationships, expanding existing relationships, managing credit risk, and responding to prospect or customer credit questions.

This person will also:

  • Ensure the portfolio administration and risk management of each client relationship is in compliance with established Associated Banc-Corp credit policy, procedure and business strategy as well as commercial and regulatory guidelines.

  • As appropriate to experience, co-manage relationships by analyzing financial data to determine the merits of specific loan requests, and recommend structure as well as aggressively managing the client relationship.

  • Partner with the Relationship Manager as the point of a contact for the client; acting as a liaison to the credit department, the commercial support staff and other internal business partners.

  • Provide financial advice and counsel to clients and prospective clients regarding trends and conditions of the business environment and general banking trends through bank approved sources.

  • Make presentations on specific loans and participate in the bank's loan approval process, recommending approval and appropriate structure of credits, along with the Relationship Manager.

  • Participate in community and business functions/groups to ensure a positive image for the bank. Establish referral contacts within the community. Serve on community, corporate or not-for-profit boards, as applicable.

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in Business, Finance, Accounting or related field. Required

Experience

  • 4-7 years Commercial/Corporate/Specialized Banking and/or Credit Approval. Required

  • 4-7 years Handling complex credits. Required

  • Formal Credit Training. Preferred

Licenses and Certifications

  • Must have access to reliable transportation and the ability to lawfully drive self, if applicable, by start date. Required
