Overview

Abacus Technology is seeking a Database Programmer/Analyst to provide technical support for Air Force Civil Engineering Center (AFCEC) at Lackland AFB. This is a full-time position.

Responsibilities
    Create instances and views, write SQL queries as required, manage extents, perform database backups and recovery, and all typical DBA functions.
  • Resolve any database problem that has resulted in unscheduled downtime of more than two full workdays.
  • Provide administration support for several database applications and configuration management software.
  • Provide technical assistance of data retrieval and data update to both Government and contractor members.
  • Provide design and customization support for complex databases including schema and subschema details.
  • Provide relational database software package support.
Qualifications

5+ years experience in the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of database management systems. Bachelor's degree in a related field. Must be Security+ certified. Experience with Oracle (currently using Oracle 19c) and SQL (Structured Query Language), or both. Experience in the creation and deletion of database user accounts, promotion of data integrity, monitoring use and performance of the database, reduction of unnecessary or redundant storage, institution of database security, facilitation of data sharing, performance of regular backups, and performance of recoveries when needed. Thorough knowledge of the software/system development life cycle (SDLC). Experience developing tables, columns, triggers, stored procedures, and queries. Experience monitoring database usage, troubleshooting data compatibility and integrity issues, and making modifications for enhanced performance. Able to communicate effectively with all levels of an organization. Organized, attentive to detail, and willing to pursue resolutions to issues as they arise. Able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Must be a US citizen and hold a current Secret clearance.
