Manager Executive Compensation
Responsible for all aspects of compensation (salary, annual and long-term incentive plans) design, implementation, communication and administration for senior officers and board of directors. This role ensures Comerica retains a competitive compensation strategy which is responsive to the organization's goals, competitive practices, and government regulations. Position is also responsible for creation of all GCN Committee materials, including the proxy.


Position Responsibilities:

Day to Day administration included stock, ESPP, cash incentive plan, deferred compensation, monthly accruals.

  • Manages stock programs and cash incentives (~$90MM in spend annually)
  • Manages ESPP program
  • Manages deferred compensation program (~$120MM in assets)
  • Manages all compensation for the external Board of Directors

Partner with Legal and Finance to analyze, model and develop senior officer compensation programs/strategies based on internal and external factors. This includes ad-hoc projects, benchmarking, senior officer job evaluations, developing offers, reorganizations and ESC submissions.

  • Works with outside vendors for administration and specific projects

Regulatory Responsibilities (required program changes and disclosures for executive compensation).

  • Must partner with Finance and Legal for Financial Reporting and to adjust programs for accounting and/or regulatory changes and to manage costs

Administer the annual senior officer compensation process including establishing cash and stock incentive pools, preparing materials for managers, senior leadership, HR, ESC and GCN. Partnering with Compensation to generate pay files for ADP.

Position Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited University in Finance, Accounting, HR or some other relevant regulatory/business background
  • 6 years of experience in executive compensation
  • 4 years of experience in managing multiple projects and or working with outside vendors to manage programs
  • 4 years of experience acting in a consultative manner with business partners to influence change
  • 4 years of experience in packaging and presentation (i.e. quantitate analysis to generate a solution or support a change, explaining programs, presenting materials to senior leadership approval)
