Job Description

JOB PURPOSE

Supervises regional grounds maintenance employees on an assigned shift to perform maintenance or service functions to specific time, quality, and cost standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintenance activities can range from, manual maintenance work, operating heavy equipment for farm pad blading/roads, stuck truck removal, snow plowing, mowing as well as equipment maintenance
  • Supervises Grounds Maintenance hourly employees and assists in coordination of all activities in the department.
  • Responsible for proper operation and maintenance of company equipment.
  • Assists in training, including safety training for personnel.
  • Responsible for organizing / planning of activities in the department to meet deadlines.
  • Assist in employee development and perform evaluations on employees.
  • Assures established standards are achieved by regularly inspecting the work of grounds personnel, directing corrective measures to be taken when necessary and appropriate.
  • Coordinates and follows up on required departmental paperwork.
  • Ensures the work of the Grounds Department is completed within budgetary constraints by assisting as needed in tracking and monitoring the use of labor and supplies.

REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred; or 3 or more years related experience or training; or combination of education and experience.
  • Three or more year's supervisory experience preferred.
  • Bilingual skills (Spanish and English) preferred.
  • Ability to interpret and carry out a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form. Ability to apply mathematical concepts to practical situations.
  • Must possess a current valid Class A or Class B CDL driver license and an acceptable MVR.
  • Must have working knowledge of state / federal regulations and procedures.
