Overview

Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking a Design Engineer to join our Municipal Engineering Group in Bryan, Texas.

Responsibilities

  • Perform engineering calculations for water, sanitary, drainage, and road designs.
  • Lead design tasks with other EITs, designers, and technicians.
  • Produce submittal-ready package with plans, specifications, estimates, and applications to governmental and private entities.
  • Conduct quantity take-offs and cost estimates.
  • Produce exhibits with proposed design and existing infrastructure to present to clients.
  • Assist project engineer in cost and schedule updates.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
  • 2-5 years of experience designing roads, waterlines, sanitary sewer, and drainage facilities.
  • Proficient in design with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Ability to calculate pipe capacity, drainage areas, vertical curves, and horizontal curves.
  • Ability to produce construction-ready plans.
  • Ability to review and interpret prepared survey drawings/data.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certificate is required.
  • Self-starter who can work independently and with team members.
  • Ability to interact well with coworkers, clients, and regulatory agencies.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of local city, county, and state land use processes and regulations.
  • Bluebeam proficiency preferred.
  • Proficiency in technical skills in stormwater management, hydraulics, hydrological analysis, grading, and other site development-related designs, preferred.
