Your Role: We're currently seeking a Project Management Engineer to join our team in support of a fast paced, commercially oriented product development environment. In this role, you'll be responsible for overseeing and executing Internal Research and Development (IRAD) programs and other assigned projects. Acting as the crucial link between Program Managers, Operations, Product Line Managers, and Engineering, you'll utilize your technical expertise and assertiveness to manage cost, scope, schedule, risk, and communications effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the coordination and execution of complex commercial development projects involving Electromechanical Systems, encompassing hardware, software, and mechanical components.
  • Plan, monitor, and ensure timely delivery of engineering work, maintaining strong organizational oversight to meet project milestones.
  • Foster cross-functional collaboration, facilitating project consensus among diverse teams.
  • Conduct regular engineering status reviews and present findings during program reviews.
  • Implement corrective actions as needed to maintain project integrity.
  • Own the Engineering schedule, communicate technical performance and other issues effectively.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, a technical field, or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of Project Management experience, preferably in electronics or mechanical product development, with a multidisciplinary team.
  • 5+ years of experience in engineering, technical leadership, or related roles.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction.
  • Proficient in engineering and technical management processes and principles.
  • Familiarity with engineering standards, processes, and product development life cycles (e.g., Waterfall and/or Agile).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including conflict resolution abilities.
  • Proficiency in MS Project and Excel.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%.
  • Previous experience in IRAD or NPI development is preferred.
  • Demonstrated success in program execution within cross-functional environments.
  • Prior experience in a Commercial product development setting.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Preferred Experience:

  • Background in Satellite Communications (SATCOM), Telecom, or related fields.
  • Familiarity with JD Edwards ERP System.
