Overview

Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking a Survey CAD Technician to join our team in Corpus Christi, Texas! The successful candidate will perform field surveys and create survey maps that meet client requirements and industry standards.

Responsibilities

  • Collect, analyze, and prepare raw data into a workable form for surveying project plans.
  • Understand and convert field data into CADD-produced documents.
  • Produce computer-generated spreadsheets, charts, overlays and drawings including digital terrain models and surfaces.
  • Complete assignments in the specific time periods requested while ensuring accuracy, completeness, quality, and thoroughness of results.
  • Understand and follow the company's standard CAD procedures and standard drawing procedures for sheet layout.
  • Assist with property and utility records research.
  • Perform first-level QA/QC tasks.
  • Work with numerous project teams to help in project completion.
  • Possibly participate in fieldwork required to accomplish tasks assigned by the project surveyor.
  • Address assignments of increased difficulty as proficiency is increased.

*Additional Duties If Applicable*

  • Set up and operate all survey equipment.
  • Conduct surveys and create sketches.
  • Perform office duties, including data reduction, field note reduction, calculations, data checks, staking computations, and drafting for survey maps.
  • Research courthouse records for deeds, titles, and chain of titles.
  • Ensure survey work meets company and client standards.
  • Maintain familiarity with currently accepted standards and methods of survey.
  • Maintain field material inventories.

Qualifications

  • Associates Degree preferred, or equivalent technical experience.
  • 2+ years.
  • OSHA 10 hours of safety certification required, HAZWOP 24 or 40 hours and Roadway Worker helpful. NPS certification desired. CST preferred; valid driver's license preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center & Bentley Microstation and related software.
  • Demonstrate general computer skills, knowledge and acumen (i.e., Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Aptitude for technical and mathematic competency.
  • Experience with survey equipment and associated processing software is desirable.
