About The Role

The Accountant, Operating Accounting is responsible for applying General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) to reviewing and approving capital asset additions, disposals, adjustments, depreciation, and allocations. The Property Accountant position will also be responsible for property accounting and preparing monthly and quarterly financial reports by compiling information, preparing and analyzing profit and loss statements, and utilizing appropriate accounting control procedures.

What You Will Do

  • Perform month-end close process, including preparation of account reconciliations, journal entries, account analysis and monthly financial statement review for property portfolio.

  • Review and approve accounts payable invoices.

  • Review accounts receivable and apply payments accordingly.

  • Perform quarterly financial variance analysis and lender requirements.

  • Review and approve lease abstracts, analysis of new leases and lease amendments.

  • Coordinate with internal and external auditors for quarterly reviews and year-end audit.

  • Special projects and other duties as needed.

About You

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting.

  • CPA a plus.

  • 2-4 years of accounting experience required.

  • Solid understanding of accounting processes.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Access and related products.

  • Must be deadline focused, organized and exhibit problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including strong technical writing skills.

  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.

  • Interact effectively as part of a team.

  • Handle a dynamic work environment with competing priorities.

  • Build positive working relationships with employees at all levels within the organization.

  • Exercise sound judgment when making decisions.

  • Able to meet deadlines as necessary.

  • Good problem solver/creative thinker.

  • HHH follows a hybrid work schedule and physical presence is required onsite.
