Basic Function

HF Sinclair is seeking a Manager Logistics Systems and Analytics in Dallas, TX who will partner with business stakeholders and IT to lead the development, implementation and use of current and future logistics analytics.. Works with the global logistics team to identify, develop and communicate key business performance metrics. Supports network optimization efforts by building and maintaining optimization tools to drive key business decisions and identify improvement opportunities in the existing logistics network. Analyzes impact of business changes. Provide analytical support for RFQ's, RFP's and RFI's as needed.Analyzes, maintains, and evaluates the logistics analytics for the Company. Provides analytics expertise, direction and training for team members as well as end users. Develops and leads analytics efforts and KPI development for global logistics with input from key business owners for different audiences and reporting frequency.

Job Duties
  • Works with business stakeholders to gather business needs and gain alignment between business needs and logistics analytics capabilities, engaging with IT business partners.
  • Researches and tests new analytics technologies and recommends upgrades and improvements to existing technologies including areas where data accuracy and efficiency can be improved.
  • Serves as primary point-of-contact for end-users for analytics support. Troubleshoots issues and corrects errors while providing guidance and training to the end user. Conducts root cause analysis of reoccurring issues.
  • Develops and maintains analytics procedures and policies.
  • Trains new users (internal and external) on logistics analytics; provides supplemental training development and classroom delivery to the end users.
  • Leads logistics analytics implementations and enhancement projects as assigned by Manager.
  • Identifies data integrity issues through regular auditing and analyzes data flows for process improvement opportunities.
  • Maintains high levels of quality, accuracy and usability of data and related interfaces.
  • Develops and designs enhancements requiring analysis, specifications, documentation, and training plans for end users.
  • Leads development and implementation of performance scorecards and analytics.
  • Communicate and distribute KPIs/Scorecards to different audiences and reporting frequency.
  • Identify data sources, develop integrated KPI tools and methodology
  • Develop quantitative analysis, ad-hoc reports, and models to support key operations decisions, including process optimizations and logistics management
  • Compile and create reports, graphs, charts, documents and slide presentations using Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and/or Power BI
  • Design, build, and maintain optimization tools to identify global supply chain network opportunities and determine optimal distribution sites
  • Supports supplier/carrier relationship management process, supplier/carrier performance reviews, and supplier/carrier development initiatives by providing data driven vendor scorecards
  • Provides savings tracking activities and reports realized savings; ensures realized savings tie back to departmental budgets
  • Researches and extracts logistics data from HF Sinclair systems and creates meaningful reporting to identify trends, performance metrics and issues
  • Leverages use of SAP, Transportation Management Systems and related technologies to create logistics analytics
  • Compile and distribute monthly logistics financial reports by business unit

Special assignments or tasks assigned to the employee by their supervisor, as determined from timeto time in their sole and complete discretion.

Experience

A minimum of ten (10) years' experience with logistics-related analytics development is required.

Preferred Experience

A minimum of two (2) years experience in the oil and gas refining, chemicals, energy, and/or heavy manufacturing industry is preferred.

Education Level

A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain or quantitative/analytical related field, or equivalent work experience in lieu of a degree, is required.

  • Experience utilizing TMS and transactional freight payment data to develop KPI's and performance scorecards. Advanced experience using Power BI and Excel.
  • A flexible, dynamic, self-demanding and proactive individual; able to motivate themselves and others.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel (e.g., V-Lookup, pivot tables); written and verbal communication; and strong analytical skills
  • Ability to analyze large, complex data sets using a variety of software and tools
  • Experience using network modeling software and understanding of network optimization methodology
  • Analytical and detail oriented
  • Embraces fact-based decision making; naturally seeks to leverage and/or integrate market data, spend analytics, and cost modeling
  • Easily accepts constructive input from others
  • Knowledge of logistics spend categories. Experience with SAP (BI, BPC) and logistics systems (TMS, Freight Audit and Payment, Sourcing). Power BI, SQL and advanced database querying and analysis experience preferred.
  • Mathematics and statistics | data analytics | data visualization | data preparation, wrangling, and modeling | programming skills (Python is a plus) | database management.
  • Machine learning and artificial intelligence is a plus
Supervisory/Managerial Responsibility

May directly supervise one (1) or more Logistics Analysts or Specialists

Work Conditions

Office-based with travel up to 25% of time by land and air.
