As our Lead Activities Designer, you will lead a team of designers in designing, creating, and managing activity systems, types, and playstyles in our social sandbox game. The Lead Activities Designer partners with - and helps guide - a cross-discipline activities team responsible for ensuring the wide scope of activities supports the game vision and is woven into the progression of the game. We are looking for a strong competency in understanding and managing a broad scope of activities in a live game, as they contribute to the player experience.

As the Lead Activities Designer reporting to the Design Director, you will:

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and drive the design vision for activities across the entire player experience, identifying clear goals & success criteria for the team

  • Translate vision into workflows, frameworks, and best practices that empower the activity design team in a live service environment

  • Work directly UX team to bridge gameplay vision with player experience expectations

  • Collaborate with other other disciplines to ensure that the gameplay experience is consistent and high quality

  • Own the creation and iteration for content that sets the standard for the activities team

  • Manage and mentor activity designers

  • Ensure both qualitative and quantitative insights are translated into actionable plans and improvements

Qualifications

  • 8+ years experience and at least one 1 shipped/live AAA title in a Lead Activities or Quest designer role

  • Proven experience with a large or broad scope of activities or quest design in a live environment

  • Experience using in-engine scripting tolls to author and modify in-game logic

  • Comprehensive understanding of current market trends and consumer feedback with the ability to craft and implement ideas based on analytics, data, and research.

  • Passion for fostering an inclusive and diverse, 'team-first' culture based on fun

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

The base salary ranges listed below are for the defined geographic market pay zones in these locations. If you reside outside of these locations, a recruiter will advise on the range and benefits for your specific location.

Pay offered will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and business or organizational needs.


BASE SALARY RANGES

* California (depending on location e.g. Los Angeles vs. Sacramento):
$122,400 - $176,300 USD Annually
* New York (depending on location e.g. Manhattan vs. Buffalo):
$115,700 - $176,300 USD Annually
* Jersey City, NJ :
$142,000 - $176,300 USD Annually
* Colorado (depending on location e.g. Denver vs. Colorado Springs):
$131,000 - $174,800 USD Annually
* Washington (depending on location e.g. Seattle vs. Spokane):
$115,700 - $163,100 USD Annually
* British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria):
$107,600 - $147,100 CAN Annually

Base salary is just one part of the overall compensation at EA. In the US, we offer a package of benefits including paid time off (3 weeks per year to start), 80 hours per year of sick time, 16 paid company holidays per year, 10 weeks paid time off to bond with baby, medical/dental/vision insurance, life insurance, disability insurance, and 401(k) to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity. For British Columbia, we offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
