Job Title: Canoe Paddler | Full-time

Hourly Rate: $25.11

Share your passion for culture with our guests and be their trusted guide as they visit the island we call home. As a Canoe Paddler, you will take our guests on a cultural journey, provide a different view of the island and help create memorable experiences.

What you will be doing:

• Assist other trained paddler in taking up to four guests in an outrigger canoe, paddling for approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour at a time.
• Be knowledgeable of Hawaiian culture and perform chant ceremony, both before and after canoe experience.
• Assist in maintaining and cleaning all pertinent equipment, i.e. paddles, canoe, etc.
• Prepare work area with overall sanitation and cleanliness adhering to Covid-19 guidelines and procedures implemented through Fairmont Kea Lani, Local Authorities, Accor Hotels.
• Informs guests about safety flags, ocean conditions and safety precautions.
• Enforces all beach safety rules seeking assistance from Supervisor or Security if required.
• Refers Guests to Activity agents or Concierge for additional needs or requests.
• Maintain atmosphere of aloha spirit by providing engaging, personalized, timely, and efficient service to our discerning guests

Your experience and skills include:

• Previous experience in paddling and swimming is required
• Must be able to withstand very warm and sunny conditions
• Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the English language
• Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written
• Must be able to read and write to facilitate the communication process
• Must be knowledgeable in Hawaiian Culture and language

Your working environment:

• Must be able to lift and carry 150 lbs.
• Must be able to push and pull 150 lbs.
• Occasional standing, walking and reaching
• Occasional lifting/carrying, pushing and pulling
• Occasional crouching, bending, stooping, and kneeling

Licenses or Certificates

• CPR/First Aid and Water Safety certification is required
