CIVIL ENGINEER

THE CIVIL ENGINEER WILL . . .

  • Lead the identification and recommendation of the purchase, modification, and improvement of varied equipment.
  • Manage all aspects of large cross-functional project and is responsible for cost, schedule, performance, and deliverables for the entire project.
  • Define the scope of the project and selects team members from within and outside of their discipline.
  • Lead the completion of engineering & design work related to the installation and retrofit of varied, complex equipment.
  • Ensure that advanced day-to-day equipment troubleshooting support is provided to Maintenance.
  • Lead the development of standards, processes, and procedures within the department.
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to less experienced Engineers across disciplines.
  • May provide day-to-day direction to Engineering staff.
  • Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS FOR CIVIL ENGINEER

  • Four-year degree preferred. High School Diploma required. PE License strongly preferred.
  • 5+ years of Civil Engineer experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of latest ACI, AISC and IBC codes. Expert knowledge of latest governing codes (i.e. NFPA, ASME, SAE, AIST, JIC, etc.)
  • Strong working knowledge of CAD and MS Office including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Advanced understanding of steel and concrete analysis and design of industrial buildings, building foundations, large industrial equipment foundations and crane runways.
  • Advance knowledge of storm water, sanitary systems, property maps and surveying preferred.
  • Experience organizing and managing projects / teams including coordination of outside resources as well as forecasting and planning resource requirements.
  • Experiences in applying sound engineering and design principles in development of manufacturing processes, process equipment and fabrications.
  • Knowledge of water recirculation cooling systems, compressed air and pneumatic systems, vacuum systems, hydraulic systems (pumps, valves, and control), and natural gas combustion systems
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, mechanical skills, strong analytical, problem-solving skills and project management skills required.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and ever-changing production environment with multiple deadlines. Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize tasks and make appropriate decisions.
  • Ideal candidate will manage own time to meet objectives within area/department and be proactive in offering help to others. Will contribute to achievement of team goals and promote teamwork through understanding of broader team goals.
  • Ability to use sound and logical thinking in choosing a particular course of action.
