Position Description
The Senior Liquidity Risk Manager is responsible for assessing Comerica's liquidity risk position in accordance with ALCO policy requirements, including liquidity stress testing, and in line with all relevant liquidity regulations and industry best practices. In addition, the position will be involved in the management of deposit pricing strategy and coordination of liquidity management efforts throughout the various businesses in the bank.

Position Competencies
Successful incumbents have experience in bank liquidity risk management and are familiar with the major bank liquidity regulations. In addition, they are proactive, quick learners, have strong technical and analytical skills with a strong attention to detail, but above all can use their skills and business acumen to translate data into actionable recommendations. Ability to communicate effectively, as well as ability to challenge information and process, and to think outside the box to solve problems is critical.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Manage and oversee the monitoring and reporting of Comerica's liquidity position, including various liquidity ratios, collateral availability, estimated capacity of existing and potential funding sources, liquidity projections, liquidity stress test scenarios, funding concentrations, commitment usage and levels, peer comparisons, etc.
  • Manage the regular review and ensure compliance with all liquidity risk policies, procedures, and processes (such as Comerica's Contingency Funding Plan, ALCO Policy, and Internal Liquidity Stress Testing, etc.).
  • Ensure compliance with liquidity regulations such as Regulation YY, Basel III LCR and NSFR, FR 2052a, etc.
  • Manages the building and updating of liquidity management systems and models by working with the team to identify industry best practices and implementing appropriate solutions.
  • Provide in-depth analysis and develop exhibits and presentations to inform management and recommend any strategic balance sheet actions oriented towards risk reduction.
  • Maintain active dialogue with various internal and external constituents, such as Enterprise Risk Division, Internal Audit, and regulators, on questions related to assumptions and methodologies around liquidity risk management.

Position Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in business, economics, mathematics or related area
  • 6 years of experience in financial modeling in the banking industry
  • 3 years of experience managing medium to large projects, providing specified deliverables
  • 3 years of Liquidity/Funding or Treasury experience
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite with strong experience using Excel; including pivot tables, graphs, and charts
