Our long-term client relationship with Jacobs has led to a need for a Autonomous Systems Technology Engineer on the JSC Engineering, Technology, and Science (JETS) contract at Johnson Space Center (Houston, TX).

JETS provides products and technical services related to human operations in space through development and integration of a broad spectrum of engineering requirements. This includes human spacecraft flight and flight development products, human exploration mission planning for NASA, institution support services, and new technology development.

The Autonomous Systems Technology Engineer will:

• Integrate existing technologies to achieve autonomous system functions, including:
• Task planning and execution
• Resource management
• Fault management
• Vehicle control
• Develop algorithms to achieve unprecedented spacecraft control capabilities.
• Develop autonomous system management reference implementation in C, C++.
• Work in an Agile, fast-paced environment.
• Perform all other assigned duties.

Required Education/Experience/Skills:

• BS degree in engineering from an accredited engineering school and three (3) years related engineering experience, or MS degree from an accredited engineering school and two (2) years of related engineering experience, or Ph.D. from an accredited engineering school.

• BS degree in engineering from an accredited engineering school and five (5) years of related engineering experience, or a MS degree in engineering from an accredited engineering school and four (4) years of related engineering experience, or Ph.D. in engineering from an accredited engineering school and zero (0) years of related experience.
• Training or experience with one or more of the following:
• Task Planning
• Fault detection and management
• Algorithms development
• Must be interested in developing a systems perspective
• Proficiency with C/C++ coding
• Should be a quick learner and self-motivated
• Excellent communication, negotiation and coordination skills and strong customer service attitude

Preferences:

• Proficiency with scripting languages such as Python.

Essential Requirements
