Description


The Sales Managerfor Emerson's Oil and Gas Midstream operations is responsible for generating andclosing sales opportunities in support of Emerson's Geographic PipelineIntegrity Management solutions. This includes GIS pipeline data integrationand management, integrity management and risk assessment including riskmodeling for customers who transport liquid hydrocarbons, natural gas andchemicals in pipelines (midstream) throughout the world. The ideal candidate is a tenacious self-starterwho can quickly learn the products and sell them. The sales cycle within thisspace can be from 6 months to 2 years.


The position is based in Houston and requiresthe ability to execute a consultative selling approach. You will call on headquarters, and the primaryfacilities of our prospective customers. The territory is North America based companies and travel is largely inthis area. This is a professional salesposition and the candidate is expected to be able to sell to high levelexecutives. The candidate must be ableto identify needs and opportunities, and provide solutions to meet theseneeds.


Responsibilities
  • Communicateand make strong connection with C-and VP-level executives
  • Listento customers, define solutions and sell software and implementation services.

  • Thesuccessful candidate must be able work multiple threads at the same time.

  • Gettingresults, reaching out to prospects (sometimes through cold calls), buildingrelationships is key.

Additional Information

Mustbe able to travel 50 %


Qualifications
Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required - Mechanical or Civil Engineering discipline preferred. MBA is a plus
  • Knowledge of GIS and Oil & Gas and Pipeline Integrity is a plus.
  • 10 years' sales experience to the Oil and Gas market
  • Proficient in selling software licenses and implementation services
  • Proven ability to sell at 'C' Level and Senior Management Levels
  • Proven ability to work with technical resources and sales management
  • Excellent communications skills and ability to communicate at all levels within our client's organization
  • Experience in the petroleum industry, preferably in the transportation (pipelines and terminals) space
  • Familiarity with enterprise software implementations involving multiple departments.
  • Problem solver - In some cases, the applications address process inefficiencies which requires good problem identification (find the inefficiencies) and good problem solving.
  • Strategic Thinker - Organized and driven
  • Ability to identity and develop new opportunities and manage the sale to successful close.
  • Confident in operating independently when necessary
