The person in this position will work remote but must live in the Phoenix area.

JOB SUMMARY
The purpose of this position is to provide senior-level expertise, leadership and guidance in the implementation and management of CBRE career development initiatives. The successful candidate will be primarily responsible to manage the internal and external technical talent pipeline to include; developing and maintaining positive relationships with CBRE HR & Recruiting, account leaders, technicians, trade and vocational schools and Career and Technical Skills Organizations (CTSOs). Talent to be managed ranges from interns to technical leaders across North America.

The candidate must possess expert-level technical skills in commercial real estate maintenance and operations, preferably in a diverse portfolio. Employees in this position may be required to travel (air, land and sea) with minimal advance notice.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain a roster of available internal and external technical talent.

Develop and maintain a strategic plan for technician succession with an expectation to promote from within between accounts and back-fill openings with interns and/or apprentices.

Actively participates in technical employee recruiting and interviewing efforts.

Coordinates, collaborates and directly engages with division and account employees to ensure successful implementation of CBRE career development initiatives.

Leads, supports and promotes corporate training, educational and knowledge-sharing initiatives.

Performs analysis of highly technical work order data and draws conclusions based on that data to enhance business performance.

Responsible for business unit financial performance.

Provides recommendations for tactical and strategic planning.

Acquire relevant contractor-level trade licensure for the jurisdiction

Other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
May be responsible for a mix of direct and matrix reports. May approve subordinate's recommendations for staff recruitment, selection, promotion, advancement, corrective action and termination. Effectively recommends same for direct reports to next level management for review and approval.

Monitors appropriate staffing levels and reports on utilization and deployment of human resources. Leads and supports staff in areas of staffing, selection, training, development, coaching, mentoring, measuring, appraising and rewarding performance and retention.

Leads by example and models behaviors that are consistent with the company's values.

QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Expert-level experience with building systems to include HVAC, refrigeration, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, building automation, carpentry and all systems related to commercial building operation.

Experience with CMMS systems and able to export data to make educated recommendations around staffing and work management.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from four-year college or university and/or a minimum of ten years of related experience and/or training

Previous supervisory experience required.

Previous experience managing training programs and developing instructional content preferred.

Previous experience as an instructor in formal learning environment a plus.

Demonstrated organizational skills, project planning and management, team building, and experience with quality management and measurement processes and tools.

CERTIFICATES and/or LICENSES
Must have appropriate license or certification where required by law.

Professional designation such as CRL, CMRP, LEED and/or CEM preferred.

Within six (6) months of employment into this role, achieve Contractor-level trade licensure for the jurisdiction(s) relevant to the geography for the role.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS
Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret the most complex business documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive issues. Ability to write reports, manuals, speeches and articles using distinctive style.

Ability to make effective and persuasive presentations on complex topics to employees, clients, top management and/or public groups. Ability to motivate and negotiate effectively with key employees, top management, and client groups to take desired action.

FINANCIAL KNOWLEDGE
Requires in-depth knowledge of financial terms and principles. Generates and reviews complex financial/business analysis and reports.

Ability to analyze the most complex business/financial data and develop innovative solutions. May develop and implement financial policies and procedures. May approve and oversee department budget.

REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve advanced problems and deal with a variety of options in complex situations. Requires expert level analytical and quantitative skills with proven experience in developing strategic solutions for a growing matrix-based multi-industry sales environment. Draws upon the analysis of others and makes recommendations that have a direct impact on the company.

OTHER SKILLS and/or ABILITIES
Ability to work well under pressure with a proactive approach to unusual occurrences. Requires good organizational skills, attention to detail and an openness to new ideas and procedures. Physical requirements include: Must be physically able to perform basic maintenance tasks to the highest caliber, which includes ability to climb ladders, work in confined spaces and lift heavy objects weighting up to 50 lbs.

Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office suite and intranet/internet. Ability to use various work order systems.

Working knowledge and understanding of architectural, electrical and mechanical systems. Understanding of leases, contracts and related documents.

SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY
Decisions made with in-depth understanding and interpretation of procedures, company policies and business practices to achieve complex results. Responsible for setting and meeting project, department and/or division deadlines. Errors in judgment may cause long-term impact to line of business and/or overall company.
