Description
Provides the accounting management team with the financial information by researching and analyzing accounts; ensures that transactions meets regulatory and compliance control and works closely with accounting team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Prepares general ledger entries (journal entries) with a strong attention to detail in maintaining records and files, and assist with monthly and year-end close processes.
  • Supports the monthly close process with emphasis on continuous improvement in striving to make tasks better and perform research and documentation of accounting processes.
  • In performing the account reconciliations, it may be imperative to handle certain analytics during end of month and annual accounting closes.
  • Maintains and balances an EDI systems tie out by inputting and verifying the data.
  • Reviews, investigates, and corrects errors and inconsistencies in recording transactional entries, documents and review of monthly financial reports of cost centers as assigned.
  • Assists with the internal and external audit schedules. Performs other duties as assigned.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

Some travel may be expected for this role.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in accounting required, plus 1 year related experience.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and effectively meet deadlines. CPA candidate a plus.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, members, employees of the organization, customers, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, etc. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Ability to develop and interpret business graphs.
