Salary Range: $42,000- $54,000 annualized, commensurate with education, experience and qualifications.

Hours: Fixed-term track (FTT) position with a standard 4-4 teaching load. The FTT contract is for 3 years and is renewable, exempt.

Essential Functions

The Film & Media Studies program invites applications for an Assistant, Associate or Full Professor of Instruction to start fall 2024. The successful candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate courses including Beginning and Advanced Screenwriting and contribute to the Film & Media Studies Program through student mentoring and service.

Required Qualifications
  • Terminal Degree (Ph.D. or MFA) and professional experience in Screenwriting.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Teaching experience in Screenwriting and other relevant areas, e.g. Acting for the Screen, Film History/Studies (especially African American, Indigenous, and/or Asian American film), Transmedia Storytelling, or Film Production.

  • Anticipated hire date will be Fall 2024.

Working Conditions

This position will be primarily located on campus. Travel and parking expenses are the employee's responsibility.
