Responsibilities

Cypress Creek Hospital is a free-standing 128-bed, acute care psychiatric hospital located in north Houston, TX, and minutes south of The Woodlands. Cypress Creek Hospital features individual units for adolescents and adults and offers inpatient acute care, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient programs. On average, over 10,000 patients receive care from our compassionate health care team each year at Cypress Creek Hospital. We currently have an opportunity for a PRN Therapist at our Branches NW location.

Position Summary

Therapists are responsible for providing clinically indicated psychotherapy to individuals, families, and groups and other duties as assigned.

Hours are based on departmental, and facility needs and may include day, evening, and weekend hours, as directed by the Intake Director or CEO/Managing Director.

Job Duties:

  • Provide effective and appropriate individual, family, and group therapy.
  • Documents ongoing patient assessments/progress clearly and concisely as required by Cypress Creek Hospital Branches NW and regulatory agency standards.
  • Provide and direct emergency services.
  • Participate in insurance driven clinical and quality of care requests within the required timeframe.
  • Interface with Utilization Review team needed to determine patient treatment needs within managed care guidelines.
  • Collaborate with all appropriate persons involved in the mental well-being of the individual in treatment. This includes but is not limited to family, schools, and other treatment providers.
  • Interacts with patients and staff in professional manner, promotes teamwork and demonstrates Service Excellence
  • Attends mandatory staff meetings.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Therapist Job Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology or related field. Master's in Social Work preferred.
  • Current licensure as an LPC, LCSW or LMSW in Texas. LCSW preferred.
  • Completion of appropriate internship, including the provision of individual, group, and family therapy.
  • Post graduate experience providing individual, group, and family therapy preferred.
