In the role of Senior ICT/Security Designer, we'll count on you to:

  • Be a self-starter capable of managing multiple projects, tracking and meeting deliverable schedules, managing design task budgets, and coordinating with production staff.
  • Evaluate, select and apply state-of-the-art security systems, telecommunications systems, and voice communication systems for new work and renovation projects.
  • Design and specify security systems including but not limited to PLC, video surveillance, intrusion detection and card access equipment.
  • Design and specify telecommunications systems including but not limited to cable pathways, outside plant cabling, backbone cabling, horizontal cabling, wireless access, and distributed antenna systems.
  • Design and specify voice communication systems including but not limited to public address, intercom and audio/visual room integration.
  • Take responsibility for the complete set of ICT/Security construction documents including drawings, specifications, and design narratives.
  • Understand that assignments have objectives that require investigation of many variables.
  • Independently perform ICT and security engineering assignments with broad general instruction from Project Manager as to the results expected.
  • Select and recommend security devices and equipment, telecommunication devices and equipment, and voice communication systems, including the writing of technical specifications covering all ICT/Security scopes of the project.
  • Work directly with owners as a part of project team.
  • Balance working on multiple projects and design tasks concurrently.
  • Assist other Designers, Project Coordinators or Technicians as needed, and be responsible for work in all phases of the design process.
  • Conduct QA/QC on the work of other Project Coordinators or Technicians as needed.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or combination of education and relevant experience.
  • A minimum of 10 years experience in ICT/Security system design.
  • Familiar with the Microsoft office suite of programs.
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must.

Preferred Qualifications

  • PSP (Physical Security Professional) certification.
  • RCDD (Registered Communication Distribution Designer) certification.
  • Familiarity with Bluebeam REVU.
